Oversee all imports into Mexico, including the coordination of international and domestic logistics, customs broker clearance, payment of duties and IVA, and recordkeepingOversee all exports from Mexico, including the coordination of international and domestic logistics, customs broker clearance, recordkeeping – knowledge of chemical requirements related to US Customs a plusLead audits of past import and export transactions in Mexico to resolve any outstanding issues or gaps in compliance in conjunction with Legal Regulatory ComplianceWork with a variety of people across the business, including Logistics, Procurement, Legal, and Accounting to efficiently manage all imports and exports for Mexican operationsProvide guidance on trade agreements Mexico has with foreign countriesComplete requests for free trade agreement (FTA) certificates and country of origin certificates, including Documenting the FTA qualification analysisRecordkeeping the certificates, the qualification analysis, and any related dataConduct HTS classification and research where necessary, using HTS Chapter and Section Notes, the Explanatory Notes, Customs rulings, and other resourcesProvide guidance on proper customs valuation methodologies for Mexican customs and implement the proper customs values accordinglyManage customs duty payments in conjunction with AccountingSupport the monitoring of customs brokers and other related service providers’ performance and draft quarterly report for managementResearch and make compliance recommendations to reduce cost and mitigate regulatory risksBecome the primary contact for customs brokers in MexicoProvide departmental system & regulatory compliance training related to Mexican imports and exports requirementsEnsure powers of attorney and related paperwork for Mexican customs brokers are maintainedEnsure the maintenance of accurate trade compliance records in accordance with Mexican requirements (e.g., pedimento, COVE, DODA, Carta Porte, commercial invoice, bill of lading, free trade agreement certificates, POA, entry packets, etc.),Provide performance metrics for export and import processes for all Mexico operationsEnsure the implementation of standardized and integrated international trade procedures in order to optimize corporate efficiency and minimize regulatory riskProvide guidance and resolve issues related to IncotermsHave knowledge of Regulaciones y Restricciones No Arancelarias (RRNA) for imports and exportsHave experience with Mexican NOMS, both import and export
