Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Planner to join our team! In this role you will responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
This position requires advanced planning and scheduling skills, strong communication abilities, and a proactive approach to risk management. The Senior Planner will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide leadership and guidance, and contribute to the successful execution of projects through efficient planning and coordination.
What You'll Be Doing:
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring they reflect realistic timelines, resources, and milestones.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.Coordinate and prioritize tasks and activities to meet project deadlines and requirements.Allocate resources efficiently across multiple projects to ensure that the required manpower, equipment, and materials are available as needed.Track and manage resource usage and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes in availability or project scope.Ensure that project teams are aware of their responsibilities and timelines.Monitor and track the progress of projects against set schedules, identifying any potential delays or risks to project timelines.Prepare regular status reports for senior management and project teams, highlighting progress, risks, and corrective actions.Analyze performance data and provide recommendations for improving efficiency and keeping projects on track.Identify project risks, including potential delays, resource shortages, or other issues that could impact timelines or budgets.Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks, ensuring that projects stay on schedule and within scope.Collaborate with project managers to implement corrective actions when issues arise.Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders, including team members, senior management, and external partners, to ensure that project goals and objectives are clear.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, and construction, to ensure alignment and timely execution of project tasks.Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and resource allocation records.Ensure that project timelines and key milestones are documented and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management on the progress and status of ongoing projects.Continuously assess and recommend improvements to the planning and scheduling process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Stay up to date on industry trends, tools, and technologies, and implement best practices in project planning and scheduling.Provide guidance and support to junior planners and project team members, sharing knowledge and helping them develop their skills.Lead planning efforts for complex and high-profile projects, ensuring that all aspects of planning and scheduling are managed effectively.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning or scheduling, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead planner role.Proven track record of managing large-scale projects, with a focus on resource management, scheduling, and risk management.Strong experience with project planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools).Advanced knowledge of project planning and scheduling techniques, including critical path method (CPM), resource leveling, and risk management.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data to stakeholders at all levels.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to anticipate issues and develop solutions.What Desired Skills You'll Bring;
