Senior Planner 

Position Description 

Kibali Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Senior Planner to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities: 

Develop and manage weekly and monthly maintenance schedules.

Convert work requests into well-scoped work orders.

Plan labour, parts, tools, permits, and access for each job.

Coordinate planned maintenance with operations to reduce downtime.

Manage backlog and prioritise critical work.   

Prepare shutdown schedules and work packs.

Work Preparation & Quality Control

Ensure job plans contain accurate instructions, drawings, and safety requirements.

Verify parts availability with warehouse/supply chain.

Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance teams on job readiness.

Follow up to ensure planned work is completed as scheduled.

Asset Management & Reliability Support

Maintain accurate equipment history in CMMS.

Identify recurring failures and flag reliability issues.

Optimise preventive maintenance tasks and intervals.

Support condition monitoring and component life plans.

Work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards.

Qualification Requirements:

 Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.

Certification in maintenance planning/scheduling (desirable)

Experience and Skills Requirements: 

5–10 years’ experience in HME maintenance, planning, or reliability

Understanding of RCM, defect elimination, and maintenance strategies.

Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Analytical mindset and ability to use maintenance KPIs.

Ability to plan long-term component replacements and overhauls.
