Wood is recruiting for a senior piping engineer to join its projects team focusing on delivering across FEED and detail design scopes of work. Position is based in Oman for a long-term assignment.

Responsibilities

In this role you will supervise a team of piping engineers and designers to translate the limited information from the concept selection report and/or basis for design to basis for design and/or front end design and project specifications as well as detailed design. Supervise a team of piping engineers to carry out the piping engineering FEED and DD activities (define and execute stage) for an assigned area of a specific project in order to generate the relevant piping engineering FEED and DD deliverables on time according to DCAF requirements.

Responsibilities Prepare piping engineering cost, time and resource (CTR) catalogue for projects Supervise a team of piping engineers and designers assigned to a project area (supervised by project piping lead) Contribute to basis for design and project specifications/philosophies Develop equipment layout/plot plan based on PFS/UFS, technical safety requirements Develop piping layout based on PEFS/UEFS Carry out stress analysis for critical lines for both piping and pipeline (metallic and non-metallic) Select/develop piping classes based on MSR Develop/approve specification for piping materials and specialty items Follow quality management system (QMS) requirements in line with ISO 9001-2015 and API Q2 2nd edition requirements Initiate, check, and/or approve piping engineering deliverables Provide input/review other discipline deliverables as appropriate Conduct layout review/model reviews and ensure timely close-out of all actions Support procurement and construction activities Participate in HAZID, design review, HAZOP, IPF and various HSE related workshops Qualifications Degree in mechanical engineering Minimum 6 years in FEED and DD engineering and minimum 10 years in oil and gas experience Specialist in stress analysis for piping and pipeline (both metallic and non-metallic) Good communicator with good interpersonal and leadership skills Experience in managing small teams and third party contractor/licensor Fluent in English; written and spoken About the Company
