We are seeking a Piping Engineer to join our team in Romania.
Job DescriptionHere is what you will do:
Conducts engineering design activities for piping systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, codes, and project requirements.Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings with accuracy and efficiency.Collects, analyzes, and interprets technical data to support design deliverables.Develops and reviews P&IDs, piping layouts, isometrics, and material take-offs.Uses 2D and 3D computer-aided design software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, or MicroStation) for piping design and modeling.Coordinates piping deliverables with other engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, I&C).Supports procurement, fabrication, and construction activities by preparing specifications and providing technical clarifications.Performs work in line with agreed budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.Applies technical knowledge and practical experience to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible piping designs.Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating responsibility, conscientiousness, and rigor in completing tasks.Communicates clearly and effectively with colleagues, project managers, and other stakeholders.Shows initiative, self-motivation, and adaptability in a dynamic project environment.QualificationsHere’s what we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent technical degree).3–7 years of experience in piping engineering and design for industrial facilities (oil & gas, water, or process plants).Experience in 2D drafting (AutoCAD/MicroStation) and exposure to 3D modeling systems (AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit).Solid understanding of P&IDs, piping layouts, and equipment–piping interfaces.Ability to collaborate with other disciplines and provide integrated engineering solutions.Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in piping design for oil & gas, water treatment, or process industries.Knowledge of equipment and piping specifications, material selection, and pipe supports design.Familiarity with international piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, ASTM).Willingness to learn new engineering software and tools.Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.Additional InformationAt AECOM, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity
