Senior Payments Operations Group Manager

**Position Overview**
PNC Bank seeks a dynamic and engaging Senior Group Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of electronic payments operations across the enterprise. This is a high-profile position that reports to the SVP and Head of Payments Operations. The right leader in this role brings applied expertise in at least 2 electronic payment rails and will have the opportunity to lead high performing functional teams that manage the 24x7x365 delivery of traditional electronic payments (wire transfer, ACH) along with aggressively growing real-time payment services (The Clearing House’s RTP and FedNow) and evolving electronic payment solutions. This leader in this position also manages the post-payment investigations group supporting all payment types. Experience in Product Development and/or Product Management combined with senior-level Operations management is a plus.
This role can be based in a PNC footprint location.
Responsibilities :
o Dynamic operational leader who is adaptable, flexible, and able to independently navigate complex and changing situations effectively. The right candidate embraces new ideas and strategies to lead teams (from the front) through uncertainty while fostering positive continuous improvement in support of a large and complex organization.
o Leads and refines the staffing model for a team of payments professionals at all stages of career development, business acumen, and with a wide range of professional goals to maintain a consistently competent, proactive, and successful back-office group focused on timely and accurate delivery of payments.
o Drives collaborative critical thinking and prudent action through interaction with partners across the organization (Technology, Product Management, Produce Development, Service, Sales.) Interacts effectively with people at all levels of the organization in a multitude of situations, including the ability to take appropriate command during client-impacting incidents/clearing disruptions impacting payment services.
o Demonstrates expertise in identifying/delivering tangible efficiencies on both a micro and macro scale. Innate understanding of workflow process and cause and effect in actions/decisions/issues across all supported payment services. Ability to internalize workflows and apply appropriate guidance/expertise in high-pressure situations.
o Maintains an operational strategy that solves for now and positions the group for ongoing success as client expectations, payment rails, oversight requirements, staffing mix evolve.
o Manages risk with common sense and keen awareness of what matters.
o Represents PNC in internal forum and external industry workgroups as appropriate.
**Job Description**
+ Determines the overall operations strategy for function or business and sets operating standards in collaboration with the business. Oversees execution of support and service and leads staff to achieve excellence. Oversees the development of relevant key performance and risk indicators.
+ Oversees the execution of business and functional strategies and initiatives to achieve desired service and budgetary results within the risk appetite. Drives improvements in capabilities, controls and performance while connecting strategies and initiatives to business outcomes to drive desired client experience.
+ Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external partners and creates an environment in which products and/or processes are designed/re-designed and/or managed to ensure customer satisfaction.
+ Establishes and ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures. Recommends and influences policy and procedure changes to meet business objectives. Ensures policy and procedures changes are communicated appropriately to deliver a superior employee and customer experience. Manages highest level escalations.
+ Manages, aligns and oversees the development of the operations team, which may include managers, supervisors and individual contributors. Develops future leaders, including managers and supervisors.

**Work Experience**
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

**Pay Transparency**
Base Salary: $100,000.00 – $224,900.00
Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
