As a **_senior partner relations investigator_** on the Partner Relations team, you will collaborate with Partner Resources Business Partners, business leaders and other stakeholder groups to protect our partners and our culture. You have excellent analytical, investigative, and risk assessment skills. You role model a growth mindset and adaptable to change. You work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting and supporting internal investigations relating to Starbucks _Anti-Discrimination/Anti-Harassment Standard_ and the _Anti-Retaliation Standard_ . You will assess scope, conduct full-scale workplace investigations, draw sound conclusions and communicate findings to business leaders and stakeholders. You will effectively use judgement to investigate matters thoroughly and speedily.
**_What you’ll do_**
+ Lead and manage complex internal investigations related to potential partner misconduct, including, but not limited to, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. This shall include – create and execute on investigation plans, find, review and analyze information, conduct interviews, prepare investigation reports and presentations, and maintain investigation records.
+ Provide recommendations on remedial actions as result of investigation that maintains a respectful culture and supports the culture of compliance.
+ Develop trust and rapport and influence business partners.
+ Work independently and partner cross-functionally with various Business Units/Business Functions as needed to build trust and effectuate collaborative partnership across the organization.
+ Model respectful and empathetic behavior in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation.
+ Provide investigative consultation to help build capability to ensure consistency and quality of investigations across the organization - guiding & supporting cross-functional peers in investigations of lower risk matters.
+ Conduct regular assessments on the potential causes of misconduct and recommend areas to be reviewed to prevent/minimize similar instances from occurring again.
+ Provide support for various programs, controls, projects, and initiatives
+ Facilitate development and analysis of case-related metrics.
+ Act as a role model and support for other Partner Relations team members.

+ Ability to employ a variety of investigative tactics, including use of various interview styles and other information-gathering methods, leveraging business acumen and insights to effectively manage investigations in the company matrix model including across multiple sets of stakeholders.
+ Ability to interpret and contextualize rules, guidelines, policies, procedures and controls.
+ Ability to listen, but also to persuasively convey opinions and recommendations.
+ Ability to be viewed as approachable and objective.
+ Ability to identify and assess risk, as well as prioritize your workload in a manner that most effectively mitigates risk while providing superior partner care.
+ Ability to build strong relationships and influence without authority.
**_Summary of Experience_**
+ B.S., B.A. with at least 5 years of experience conducting legal/compliance investigations in a private sector/public sector environment and/or at least 5 years of Employee Relations, Compliance, Employment Legal or HR Generalist experience.
+ Experience conducting internal investigations including intake, determination if an investigation or referral is warranted, investigation, resolution, summary reports, and recommendations.
+ Experience in providing assistance with the development of remedial measures of risk areas/gaps identified during investigations.
+ Experience with and proficiency in database and case management systems and tools, fluency in MS Office Suite, and strong typing skills for notetaking.
**_Preferred_**
+ Candidates who have experience conducting workplace investigations in Canada as well as the United States.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
