Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity to work within the PayPal Australia Legal team has arisen working closely with the business to support new strategic initiatives in a period of continued growth. As a Paralegal, the role involves playing an integral part in an enthusiastic team at a time of great change for the company and in the Payments industry.

The position is for a Paralegal who will work within the Australian Legal team. You will provide assistance to the legal team in relation to corporate governance, external and internal requests for information, law reform, legal operations and legal research. The position will report to a Director of Legal in the Australian Legal team.

Job Description:

Core Responsibilities:

Provide governance assistance and administration support for all PayPal Australia Boards and Committees.

Assist with all external information requests, including court subpoenas, regulatory notices and liquidation escalations.

Assist with implementation of law reforms and legislative changes.

Manage legal operations for the legal team, which includes maintaining legal advice library, legal team folders and templates.

Undertake legal research on ad-hoc projects and legal topics.

Preferred Qualification:

0-2 years post qualification experience with a major law firm and/or in house experience in the Payments or Financial Services industry. Experience in corporate governance, board support, financial services and payment services, and legal operations would be advantageous.

Undergraduate degree from a reputable university.

Highly Organised: Exceptional attention to detail with strong ability to manage and track multiple legal matters, board events, and deadlines.

Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to draft clear governance and legal documents and engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.

Proactive and Positive Attitude: Self-starter with a can-do spirit who takes initiative and seeks opportunities to add value beyond assigned tasks.

Strong Time Management: Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and consistently deliver high-quality work.
