**The Opportunity**
We currently have an opportunity available for a **Sr. Packaging Engineer** to join our **Vascular** division in **Temecula, CA.** This is a fully Onsite role.
Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.
The Sr. Packaging Engineer is responsible for providing package engineering support in the creation, development and improvement for medical device packaging systems (invasive and non-invasive).
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
+ Researches, develops, designs, evaluates and documents packaging systems, materials, incoming receiving, distribution systems and packaging line equipment.
+ Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
+ Directs support personnel, coordinates, and reports on project activities.
+ Write and submit intellectual property (patents, when applicable).
+ Investigates and evaluates existing technologies for potential improvement or use.
+ Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development and use. Establishes and cultivates an extensive network of support to facilitate completion of assignments.
+ Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance and work direction, and offering counsel.
+ May lead a project team.
+ Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects.
+ Influences middle management on technical or business solutions.
+ Will interact with vendors.
+ Plans and organizes non-routine tasks with approval.
+ Initiates or maintains work schedule.
+ Establishes work assignments priorities.
+ Exercises judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution.
+ Failure to obtain results, erroneous decisions, or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable resource expenditure.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING**
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
+ 6+ years related work experience
+ Med Device Packaging experience
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's Degree
+ Wide application of technical principles, practices, and procedures
+ Strong understanding of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/relationships.
+ Will perform this job in a quality system environment.
+ Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulation.
+ Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
+ Has a sound knowledge of various technical alternatives and their impact.
Please note that the salary range listed is our full grade range. We usually hire based on the mid-point.

The base pay for this position is $75,300.00 – $150,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
