**Job Description**
BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Oracle Database Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Oracle databases, with a strong focus on automation, continuous improvement, and regular operations and maintenance.
The ideal candidate should have 10 years of experience with Oracle Database support and have a proven track record of ensuring database stability, performance, and security, while driving process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime. The candidate should be a self-starter where some assignments are often self-initiated, have excellent communication skills and work seamlessly in a team environment as well as independently.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years working experience or equivalent experience
+ Experience with Oracle 26ai, 23ai and 19c, including Multi-Tenant Architecture and RAC Databases, with a strong understanding of database infrastructure design.
+ Extensive experience as an Oracle administrator including management, maintenance, configuration, and optimization in a high-availability environment.
+ Experience in following processes and procedures to standardize Database installations and configuration, ensuring consistency and best practices.
+ Experience in cloning Databases in a Multi-Tenant Database environment, with a focus on efficiency and accuracy.
+ Experience automating, scripting, and streamlining processes using Unix shell scripting or other scripting tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
+ Broad experience in performance tuning, utilizing OEM or third-party tools to optimize objects and queries in Oracle 26ai, 23ai and 19c.
+ Experience with implementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery environments using Data Guard, ensuring business continuity.
+ Comprehensive understanding of Oracle backup methodologies, with experience in implementing and scheduling RMAN backups, as well as successful database restores.
+ Strong experience with UNIX environments including Solaris and Linux operating systems.
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, with a "can-do" attitude and a resourceful approach to problem-solving.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with customers and stakeholders.
+ Experience with patch management - applying quarterly database CPU, PSU, SPU, BP patches, ensuring database security and stability.
+ Experience monitoring alert logs, OEM, and system alerts, with the ability to act on results.
+ Willingness to participate in rotational 24 x 7 on-call Production support, ensuring timely resolution of production issues.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Experience working with Oracle Exadata with a strong understanding of the Exascale data architecture
+ UNIX scripting skills to automate compliance controls and other maintenance activity
+ Experience administering Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) using the GUI and command line tools including Application installation and patching of OEM.
+ Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to interact with and manage stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and internal teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.
+ Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on staying current with emerging technologies and trends.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
