The Boeing CompanyBoeing’s Enterprise Compute & Storage Solutions, Database Solution Services team is seeking a highly motivated, creative and digitally-savvy Senior Oracle Database Administrator to support Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) - Evolved Strategic SATCOM (ESS) program in El Segundo, CA.
This individual will work closely with the application leadership, managers, and teams in support of the program. This position will serve as the primary contact related to database support, operational stability, performance tuning and execution of timely project requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles, cross organizational communications, and a strong collaborative mindset with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Position Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and maintains complex databases
Creates procedures for the design, implementation and test of database backup, recovery systems, database migration and archiving systems and procedures
Creates plans for the implementation of database security infrastructure
Consults with architects and technical specialists to identify proper hardware and software implementations
Plans, installs, and tests software upgrades and patches
Provides input on organizational standards for database monitoring thresholds
Monitors performance trends to identify and correct problems
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Successfully completed a Tier 5 investigation (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years, or been enrolled in a Continuous Vetting Program within the last 5 years
Current CompTIA Security+ Certification
5+ years of experience working with shell scripting in a Linux/Unix hosting environment
5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator supporting corporate databases including installing, configuring, tuning, troubleshooting and/or upgrading Oracle databases (RDBMS versions 10g, 11g, 12c and higher)
5+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator developing and implementing backup and recovery processes for corporate databases
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher, or equivalent work experience
Experience using analytical, collaboration, communication and organizational skills
Experience with effective communication, organizational skills, and team mindset

Summary pay range: $126,650 – $171,350
