Job DescriptionAs part of our high performing Energy team, you will be actively involved in a highly motivated and innovative team of energy professionals across New Zealand as well as Australia. The team is currently delivering a range of projects including owner’s engineer, design and project management roles as well as front-end work such as site identification and evaluation, feasibility studies, concept design and grid connection studies associated with future generation and storage projects.
How you’ll make a difference
Lead the concept design and development of electrical systems for renewable facilities including wind, solar and battery storage facilities, and other emerging technologies.Act as a technical leader; developing specifications, mentoring junior engineers on projects and collaborating closely with senior leaders, key clients, and stakeholders.Undertake responsibilities as Owner’s Engineer, to ensure the project is delivered according to the clients’ requirements. Provide technical advice and guidance on project timelines, schedule, budget, contractor management and risk management.Support clients and projects through construction management and site supervision roles.Leverage your project management expertise to oversee projects, whilst reviewing and signing off concept designs for power generation facilities on projects across New Zealand, providing support to our Australian teams where possible.QualificationsThe following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. The qualities that help you thrive
Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or Project Management.8+ years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, either owner/client side, or working for a consultancy (preferred) with a track record of project management experience.Project or engineering experience across hybrid (wind/solar/battery) renewables projects from feasibility studies and specification development to construction monitoring.Experience in the delivery of large, multi-megawatt, utility-scale power project development and grid connection process in NZ or Australia.Demonstrable knowledge of major generation technologies and applicable systems, utility scale Solar PV and/or experience in BESS.Additional InformationWhy you’ll love working with us
