The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational activities including Supply Chain, Production, Aftermarket, and Compliance (QMS, Export Control, Legal, and Environment, Health and Safety). This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, efficient services aligned with Moog Australia’s mission and strategic vision. As a key member of the site leadership team, the incumbent manages a diverse workforce and fosters a culture of continuous improvement, quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
Lead and develop a skilled, motivated workforce across Supply Chain and Production at Moog Australia, fostering a quality-first mindset and a success-oriented team culture.
Manage and continuously improve the Operations functions including Quality, Supply Chain, Production, and Logistics.
Oversee the entire manufacturing process, from raw materials to customer delivery, including supplier qualifications and management of service providers.
Lead product site transfers ensuring facility readiness and optimized operations.
Develop and execute strategic short- and long-term plans for operational growth and efficiency.
Manage financial aspects of manufacturing processes, including capital investments aligned with corporate growth objectives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce waste, boost service levels, and improve financial performance.

EHS
Developing and implementing EHS policies and procedures
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
Conducting risk assessments and hazard identification
Investigating incidents and accidents
Promoting a positive safety culture
Monitoring and reporting on EHS performance
Compliance
Management of Moog AEO, EAR, ITAR, BAFA & DEC products and applications.
Responsible for supporting Australia & Overseas licensing applications.
Responsible for writing and maintaining Australia specific policies and procedures as it relates to Trade Compliance, support with training materials and regular staff updates.
Liaison through the role of the Empowered Officer with central export compliance functions in the IRL, UK, DE & US. Monitor the proper Australian regulations for embargoed countries/parties
Responsible for the execution of divisional compliance policies (e.g. visitor processing, foreign travel and restricted parties screening) in accordance with trade regulations.
Responsible for the maintenance of the Known Security Control Program within Moog Australia.
Responsible for Legal and Corporate Environmental, Health and Safety Compliance
Qualifications:
Degree or master’s in operations and/or Supply Chain (Required)
Lean or Six Sigma Certification (If in process, will also be considered)
Engineering Degree (Desirable)
Work Experience:
10+ years’ work experience, ideally in a multi-national organization, and in a heavily regulated manufacturing company, Defence or Automotive.
6 - 10 years’ experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager or Supply Chain Manager or similar field
Proven ability to balance strategic vision and pragmatic operations
Demonstrated experience in a senior leadership position, ideally in a similar operating environment
Extensive operational management experience in a similar environment
Proven ability to facilitate change in the operations of a large organization
Ability to provide solutions to complex issues using critical thinking
Suitability:
High level of integrity, discretion, and motivation with a strong willingness to learn.
Proven ability to form and lead teams and prioritize multiple tasks effectively with good judgment.
Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of developing multiple implementation options to address issues.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to interface effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing, including training delivery.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with skills in data analysis, presentations, and report writing.
Solid knowledge of Australian Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations and standards.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
Willingness to work “off hours” to support and manage complex challenges across geographies and operating groups
Eligibility:
Must be an Australian Citizen and can obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance
Must satisfy police checks and employment screening verification including employment reference checks
Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulation (ITAR) which in some circumstances can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1
Travel: Reasonable domestic travel and infrequent overseas travel, circa 10%.
