THE ROLE:
The Senior Operations Director – EMEA will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operations of facilities in the EU and Middle East/Africa region that make up the Applied Water business. In this role, the incumbent will also develop the operations footprint optimization strategy in EMEA, defining the production capabilities required and leading the deployment of such strategies.
Location: Italy / Hungary / Poland
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Directly responsible for all Applied Water operations in the EMEA region. All Operations Site Leaders report directly to this position.
+ Provide leadership and set strategy for Xylem’s Applied Water operation in the EMEA region, including cascading KPIs and deliverables for continuous improvement within the areas of safety, sustainability, customer experience, quality, production, reliability, and profitability.
+ Accountable for multi-site quality management system and increasing customer value with a thorough understanding of customer needs.
+ Champion and utilize best practices to drive Xylem’s Lean Management program and projects.
+ Personally lead, promote, and act as a role model of the safety culture at Xylem. Ensure all facilities are living a safety culture that drives zero harm.
+ Responsible for financial performance of all the Applied Water facilities in the EMEA region to meet business requirements, including but not limited to developing the annual operating plan/budgets and continuously reviewing the plan compliance with respect to production, yields, and fixed costs.
+ Align across integrated supply chain functions and consistently ensure high quality products are manufactured to meet or exceed customer expectations on a timely basis.
+ Actively lead regular site operating reviews, and ensure all facilities are prepared and accountable to both internal and external stakeholders.
+ Identifies, defines, and leads change initiatives with the purpose of increasing Value Creation in Applied Water. This will be accomplished via the proactive use of programs such as Lean, GDP, etc.
+ Actively collaborates with colleagues in the design and development of programs and processes to help minimize product costs while maximizing operational efficiency, helping implement relevant metrics and goals.
+ Provides leadership throughout the EMEA organization, focusing on talent identification and development, motivating employees and providing an example of integrity and ability.
+ Ensures ongoing and accurate communication at all organizational levels.
+ Works closely with senior leadership to ensure that operational needs and customer service levels are met.
+ Actively participates with EMEA Leadership to ensure appropriate business and growth plans are implemented across all operations and actively participates in EMEA Operations capital planning and budgeting activities.
+ Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organizational needs
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
+ Minimum of 10 years manufacturing/production/integrated supply chain experience, with managerial responsibility for these functions.
+ Fluent in English.
+ Proven experience in leading multi-cultural operations environment
+ Proven financial acumen to prepare, present, and effectively modify financial business case plan and capital appropriations.
+ Excellent influencing, communication, and presentation skills.
+ Proven utilization and understanding of manufacturing and process improvement processes including Lean Manufacturing, Voice of the Customer, and related expertise.
+ Effective change agent and value-added perspective skills.
+ Demonstrated strong cross-functional collaborative capabilities.
