Senior Operations and Maintenance Engineer
Permanent Position Melbourne
This role is a key member of the operations and maintenance team in Australia working closely with colleagues locally and internationally to ensure that problems and issues are solved in a timely and effective way.
Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting system control and electrical hardware issues. Generate maintenance reports relating system performance determining root cause and performance trends. Creating equipment specific maintenance procedures. Training contractors and sub-contractors on equipment maintenance and operating procedures. Assisting the Field Technicians in maintenance activities. Maintaining spare parts. Resolving technical issues as it relates to the system software. Maintain computer and control systems including software updates and system testing and system commissioning. Maintain computer networks including configuration and software management. PLC programming and relay software configurations changes. Strong focus on preventing equipment down time. Maintain documentation including drawings, OEM documentation, procedures, safety documentation, etc. as it relates to PV generation systems. Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Recurrent Energy Code of Business Conduct. Adhere to all health and safety rules and policies.
Requirements:
4 years plus of experience in the renewable energy industry. Experience in a service environment, working with control systems that include PLC’s, communication systems, switchgear and power generation hardware. Expertise in leading large-scale solar and BESS projects, managing the full project lifecycle from concept to operation. Proven track record in conducting comprehensive design reviews, feasibility studies, and technical due diligence for various renewable energy projects Software programming knowledge of control relays, SCADA systems, PLC, network hardware and security software. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications. Must have degree in Engineering Technology, or preferably a degree in Electrical Engineering. Strong work ethic, positive team attitude and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent trouble shooting skills. Electrical background in PV generating systems or maintenance is an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel to various project sites throughout CA as required.
