Kforce has a client in Brooklyn, NY that is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to ensure operational continuity, stabilize our infrastructure, and support several active projects following the departure of our in-house engineer. This role combines hands-on execution with the opportunity to influence long-term network modernization and vendor strategy. This role is hybrid in Brooklyn, NY, and will require the candidate to be able to work in the office 2-3 times per week. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced contractor who enjoys blending tactical execution with strategic input to shape the future of our network. Responsibilities: * Provide Tier 2/3 network support, including incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation * Partner with IT teams on day-to-day changes (VLANs, port configs, QoS, ACLs) and maintain accurate documentation of configurations, diagrams, and runbooks * Participate in on-call rotation for network incidents and validate MSP recommendations for performance and security compliance * Lead HQ network modernization efforts (LAN/WAN redesign, switch/firewall upgrades, vendor stack changes) and contribute to vendor/tool evaluations * Support office expansions by designing and delivering network capabilities in collaboration with Workplace and vendor teams * Ensure smooth transition of responsibilities to internal teams and MSP, identify technical debt, and propose improvements
