Senior Network Adminstrator
**Job Description** BAE Systems is offering an exciting opportunity to support an important and dynamic US Navy customer as an experienced **Network Administrator** supporting a highly capable and diverse team driving technical innovation for the US Navy s AEGIS Technical Representative (TECHREP) program that provides on-site direction, oversight, and support that validates the total AEGIS weapon and combat system design. The IT network administrator will support BAE's classified lab environments that use Windows and Linux networked systems, with expertise in setting up and managing Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, SharePoint, and Exchange services. A successful candidate will be joining a team supporting internal customers implementing and managing lab infrastructure to meet the customer requirements. In this role, you will: + Maintains operation of Cisco network infrastructure and security platform components in coordination with network engineers. + Build, configure, administer and troubleshoot Windows (and Linux) servers and user workstation hardware and software; design and implement workgroup-scale networks; build and manage authentication, file-share, and other collaboration servers to support groups of heterogeneous client systems. + Document system configuration for new and existing systems. + Conduct reverse engineering of networks, producing documentation, and the ability explain results and potential areas of improvement and optimization + Lead/support with centralized authentication technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory domains in supporting (Windows/Linux) cross-platform clients is desirable. + Maintains operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. + Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. + Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. + Develops and monitors policies and standards related to the use of computing resources Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time. You should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. Flexibility in approach to finding solutions, the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities, and learn new technologies quickly are some of the qualities a successful candidate will have. You will also need to be willing to respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Secret clearance + CompTIA Security (or equivalent) + Understanding of LINUX(can install system packages, navigate files/stem, run scripts/executables, understand stdout/stderr, understand systems services + Experience in enterprise level Windows Server operating environments, including Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, SharePoint, Exchange services + Enterprise Cisco, Microsoft, TCP/IP, and other LAN/WAN networking concepts + Windows and Unix/Linux interoperability services (e.g. centralized authentication technologies for cross-platform clients) + Windows shell scripting + Ability to work in the Microsoft Office suite including working with documents, text formatting and manipulation, data validation and analytics, scripting, pivot tables, and formulas. + Selected candidate must possess effective verbal and written communication skills + 6 years related work experience and a High School Diploma // 4 years related work experience and Associates Degree // 2 years related work experience and a Bachelor s degree with a preference given to the Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or General Science - Scientific Method disciplines **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Associate-level Cisco network and security platform and component design support (Routing, Switching, Firewall, 802.1x, NAC, MAB) + Implementation of network Quality of Service (QoS) policies + Use of SMB protocols to allow advancement of storage technologies + Configuring and validation of RDMA technologies + Expertise with Cloud and/or Hybrid Cloud networking integration and sustainment **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $77809 - $132275 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
