Senior Microwave Hardware Testing Engineer
Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

As a Senior Microwave Hardware Test Engineer, you will collaborate with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to develop cutting-edge product solutions. Working alongside colleagues across Amazon Leo's interdisciplinary organization, you will drive critical aspects of product development, execution, and optimization. Success in this role requires adaptability, responsiveness, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities
In this role, you will lead the transition of microwave/RF subsystem testing from engineering validation to production readiness for space-qualified applications. Your responsibilities will include defining comprehensive test parameters, establishing acceptance criteria, and ensuring seamless knowledge transfer to the production team.

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities
• Engineering Testing: Develop engineering test benches for design verification and establish compliance matrices.
• Production Testing & Characterization: Design and execute production-level test procedures for RF/microwave modules, including gain, noise figure, output power, current consumption, and linearity measurements.
• Documentation & Reporting: Generate comprehensive test reports, analyze performance trends, and create, update, and maintain technical documentation and test procedures.
• Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose and resolve unit failures at the die-level, wire bond, and soldering stages to enhance production yield.
• RF Circuit Simulation & Optimization: Perform block-level circuit simulation, schematic capture, and oversee PCB layout design.

A day in the life
Success in this role requires regular cross-organizational collaboration with engineering teams. You must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across functional boundaries in a matrixed environment.
