Senior Microsoft Power BI Developer
Position Description:

We're seeking a Senior Microsoft Power BI Developer to join our growing Analytics & Insights practice. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data engineering, visualization, and business strategy — and who's passionate about using the latest Microsoft data capabilities to build scalable, intelligent analytics ecosystems.
You'll lead the end-to-end design, development, and deployment of Power BI solutions that go beyond traditional reporting — integrating Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and the Power Platform to deliver connected, governed, and insight-rich experiences across the enterprise.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Design and implement end-to-end Power BI solutions that leverage the full Microsoft data ecosystem — including Fabric, Synapse, Data Lake, and Azure SQL.
. Develop and manage enterprise-grade Power BI environments — workspaces, apps, datasets, dataflows, and reusable templates.
. Optimize BI solutions for governance, scalability, and reusability using shared datasets, dataflows, and certified content.
. Design semantic models using best practices in DAX, M, and data modeling.
. Integrate Power BI with Microsoft Fabric pipelines and Synapse workspaces for advanced data orchestration and analytics performance.
. Build mobile-ready dashboards and embedded analytics experiences.
. Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business teams to translate complex data into actionable visual insights.
. Enable self-service BI through structured governance, reusable assets, and training.
. Lead technical discussions, mentor junior developers, and set standards for Power BI excellence across the organization.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 5+ years of professional experience with Power BI in enterprise-scale environments.
. Deep understanding of Power BI Service and Power BI Premium (apps, workspaces, user management, dataflows, governance).
. Hands-on experience integrating Power BI with Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, and Data Lake Storage.
. Expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling best practices.
. Strong knowledge of data pipelines, DirectQuery models, and performance tuning.
. Experience with security models (Row-Level Security, Object-Level Security) and deployment pipelines.
. Applies Power BI UX best practices with consistent navigation, responsive design, clear hierarchy, and accessibility to deliver an exceptional user experience across web and mobile.
. Familiarity with Power Platform integration (Power Automate, Power Apps) for extending analytics workflows.
. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making through data storytelling.

Nice-to-Have

. Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.
. Familiarity with Azure DevOps or CI/CD for BI deployment.
. Experience with Python, SQL, or Databricks for advanced data transformations.
. Knowledge of AI visuals and Copilot in Power BI for next-generation analytics.
. Understanding of data mesh and governance frameworks in Microsoft Fabric.
