We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source a Senior Metering Engineer. This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below.
Title: Senior Metering Engineer
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Qatar Onshore
Working Schedule: 5 days per week / 10 hours per day
--Experience Required—
Key Job Accountabilities
• Develop and implement comprehensive metering plans for department projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards, regulations and project specifications. Develop and implement detailed engineering specifications and standards for metering equipment and instrumentation in line with operational needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across department projects to integrate metering systems into facility designs meeting operational and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate the installation, calibration and testing of metering devices to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Conduct audits and inspections of metering systems to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure operational, contractual and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical expertise in assessing metering equipment integrity, ensuring alignment with project specifications, and maintaining adherence to stringent quality standards. Collaborate closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure the quality and reliability of metering equipment procured for department projects.
• Prepare the technical specifications for metering contracts including scope of work, and contribute to the evaluation of calls for tender for metering services, and annual budget preparation and audits as required by company relevant procedures.
• Interface with regulatory authorities and certification bodies to ensure department compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations. Coordinate with vendors and external agencies for specialized metering and innovative technologies.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and project teams to conduct thorough risk assessments, emphasizing safety, reliability, and environmental considerations to achieve project readiness.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending and implementing innovative metering methodologies to enhance the reliability and contribute to efficient project start-ups.
--Minimum Requirements--
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering.
Knowledge and Key Skills
• Six (6) years of experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, process plant or power plant with a minimum of four (4) years in the field of flow measurement and metering.
• Competent in various engineering software tools related to flow measurement and metering like Kelton flow calculation, S600 flow computer applications etc.
• Aware of ISO standards on flow measurement.
