For Nike merchants, everything begins and ends with the consumer. We are looking for a consumerist with an affinity for products who enjoys the energy of moving at the pace of retail and our consumer.
The _Senior Merchant, Energy LATAM_ will report directly to the NSW Merchandising Director. In this role you will work closely with fellow merchants and cross-functional teams within Geo Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, and Brand Marketing. You will also work with Finance, Operations and the Insights & Analytics teams.
This ideal candidate combines merchandising expertise with storytelling, detail orientation, and ability to blend art and science to deliver game changing results. This role requires a strategic thinker who can build compelling cross-category assortments for _Energy-focused_ partner accounts in LATAM.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Senior Merchant, self-driven individual with passion for consumer & market insights and building strong partnerships. This role will leverage your ability to collaborate with x-functional partners (Sports Merchandising teams in territory and at the Geo level, as well as Territory Marketing, Planning and sales teams) strong communication, influencing skills and merchandising acumen.
+ Bachelor's degree or higher, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
+ A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Footwear, Apparel, Equipment, or relevant consumer product merchandising, product creation and/or retail in a vertical, multi-brand or digital environment. Pulse on LATAM’s sneakers and fashion/lifestyle culture are essential.
+ Strong command of common retail and/or digital metrics such as sell-through, margin, full price realization, weeks of supply, etc.
+ Strong product line management understanding and expertise as to build, lead and drive long-term product strategies.
+ Proven ability to cultivate innovation and build the future by becoming consumer and product expert combining consumer and market trends with sales and business data.
+ Strategic thinking to build and lead mid- and long-term strategies leading and driving a consistent, profitable business with plans that allow us to extend product lifecycle while building new opportunities.
+ Preparing seasonal tools to equip your marketplace partners with an understanding of seasonal priorities.
+ Experience developing strong working relationships with teammates and cross-functional partners.
+ Great teammate and contributor, with an attitude and excitement to learn new things.
+ Strong communication skills and comfort navigating a cross-functional matrix with an emphasis on influencing skills.
+ Solid communication and presentation skills both in Spanish and English.
+ Attention to detail, understanding the importance of consistency.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
The candidate will play a crucial role in understanding our _Energy_ business and consumer, generating insights into informing our Global and GEO partners about product opportunities and needs as well as building the best _Energy_ product line for the territory to serve our consumer while achieving our business goals.
+ You will need to become consumer and product expert by combining the art and science of merchandising, starting by understanding their interests and needs, key moments, what they like and what they don’t like and complementing with business acumen allowing yourself to know the historical data and current business performance to strengthen your criteria and take consumer right decisions.
+ You will gather consumer trends and marketplace insights from in-market seasons.
+ You will need to have an E2E Mindset not just as the enabler of the strategy but a lead that will obsess to guarantee as flawless execution of the plan. Our goal as merchandising is to ensure we serve the consumers with the right product, in the right place at the right time.
+ You will connect directly with your GEO counterpart to align territory priorities, needs, opportunities and ensure GEO team provides the support to fulfill territory plan and land on a final _Energy_ product strategy.
