The Opportunity:

The Senior Mechanical Reliability Engineer’s focus at the Dallas, TX Mill will be to develop and implement reliability programs across the facility. Reliability program development to include preventative maintenance plans (PMs) as well as specification and application of predictive technologies (PdM) on mechanical and rotating equipment. The successful candidate will define, develop, and implement programs that will improve reliability and productivity across the facility. 

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Develop and lead reliability projects to continuously improve equipment availability and uptime, maximize production, and reduce maintenance costs Plan predictive and preventive maintenance activities to support the strategy, vision, and core values of the Maintenance Department.Conduct equipment root cause failure analyses to identify opportunities to reduce repetitive maintenance and repair issues and to increase facility uptime Develop and provide safety training to maintenance technical personnel in the areas of job hazard awareness, fall protection, mobile equipment, and hot work Develop and implement predictive maintenance measure to increase the lifespan of assets Serve as an equipment reliability subject matter expert (SME)Work with the engineering team on new equipment installs, instilling good reliability in the planning/install phases. Partner with the maintenance and production teams to support, educate, and promote reliability program buy-in throughout the facility Coach and train reliability personnel (i.e. Vibration Analysts, Reliability Technicians, and Lubrication Technicians) to enable performance excellence 

 

What you will need to succeed:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related degree Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Reliability EngineeringVery analytical with the ability to develop key insights from large sets of data and information from various sources to drive business decisionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adjust communication style and simple complex technical information for various audiences Adept at problem-solving and identifying root cause to implement preventative methods Results-oriented with a willingness and drive to achieve organizational objectives Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel Ability to adapt to and learn Smurfit Westrock’s Centralized Maintenance Management System
