A Day in the LifeAs a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer of the MEIC, you will collaborate with the sustenance and engineering teams globally. You will enable Product Development, Medical Devices Design Controls, and sustenance activities in close conjunction with the global teams.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Demonstrate strong expertise in Finite Element Analysis for structural studies using ANSYS or any equivalent Prediction Software. Expertise in handling non-linear simulations is desired.Strong understanding of structural mechanics, material properties, and mechanical behavior.Experience in Mechanism Design and Analysis using Creo-Mechanism module or equivalent software.Perform engineering calculations and analysis to improve/validate product designs. And should be able to design plastic and metal components considering DFM, DFA and CostExpertise in Robust Modeling and Detailing practices following the ASME guidelines.Interact with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and contribute positively to the engineering community.Own & Lead Predictive engineering activities from start to finish and assess project deliverables and critical milestones, working in collaboration with multi-disciplinary functions.Provides optimal workable solution for design problems and improve efficiency of the team.Work independently with minimal supervision, taking initiative to determine and develop effective solutions.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members; review their work and support their professional growth. May also lead projects or manage specific processes.Apply project management skills to plan, schedule, and monitor project activities efficiently.Possess comprehensive knowledge of product development and its cross-functional aspects.Support the Product Development Team by applying relevant medical device standards and regulations to new products under development.Required Knowledge and Experience:
Bachelor’s OR Master’s degree in Mechanical / Production engineering with 8 to 14 years of relevant experience.Hands on Simulation software like Ansys, Creo Simulate and Creo Mechanism, CAD systems such as Creo – expert level (Drafting & Modelling) as well as data management systems such as Windchill.Proficient in Concept Development, Prototyping and Benchmark TestingWell verse in 1D, 2D and 3D Tolerance StacksExcellent verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams.FEA, CFD, Structural Design (OR) Structural Analysis
