The role of our Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Mission Critical in Finland (Contract) is to see that building services systems will be, are or have been put to work properly and in accordance with relevant requirements.
Role:
Ensure that all commitments to clients are delivered on time and to the requisite levels of detail and quality. Oversee the commissioning process conducted by the general contractor (GC), ensuring that results align with project requirements and specifications. Witness and verify the inspection and testing of systems to assess performance. Provide consultative advice regarding commissioning and performance requirements, strategies, programs, and scopes of work. Conduct inspectionswhen required.Responsibilities:
Adhere strictly to the company’s health and safety policies and procedures at all times. Work diligently, efficiently, and professionally to maintain high standards of performance. Ensure technical compliance and the high quality of all deliverables. Collaborate closely with the main contractor’s team to develop commissioning strategies that fully align with project objectives. Fully implement and follow the company’s project and internal management systems. Maintain a strong awareness of project finances and control expenditure accordingly. Attend project meetings as required. Prepare internal and client reports covering technical, commercial, and program-related aspects. Develop project-specific commissioning management and validation documents and procedures. Provide technical comments on drawings, manuals, and technical submittals. Develop project-specific method statements, test scripts, and related documents. Monitor and report internally on any changes to project scope. Work collaboratively with other professionals to evaluate project progress, address challenges, and control costs.Undertake directing of hands-on commissioning activities as necessary. Participate in the L3-L4-l5 process as defined in ASHRAE Conduct FOKs at L3 and report on any deficiencies Conduct and direct L4 testing Assist in execution of L5 testing.General Duties:
Plan ahead to arrange for the test instrumentation and contractor resources required for commissioning activities. Proactively support colleagues in the execution of their work.Preferred Qualifications:
Engineering degree. Experience with major mission-critical commissioning projects in Europe. Minimum of 7 years of industry experience, specifically with HVAC. Strong background in controls is highly desirable.#LI-MW4
Required QualificationsMust be willing to travel to site-based locations as reasonably based on HDR needs Must be an experienced engineer, either a licensed PE or a field technician with excellent understanding of MEP systems, HVAC controls, the TB process, etc Must have good computer skills and effective typing skills Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skills Be familiar with the organization of design documents, the preparation of the multidiscipline designs, and the delivery of the design construction servicesStrong knowledge of construction practices, systems engineering, operations fundamentals, contracting, and general business operations Understanding of project accounting and financial management tools Ability to prioritize and organize work; ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
