Roles and Responsibilities

Maintain material and special process specifications for nondestructive test methods and procedures.Work with suppliers to interpret specifications/standards and optimize production methods/techniques.Review supplier and service provider NDT procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with codes, standards and specifications.Service projects support – NDT process development for field inspection and validation.  Interface with services teams and 3rd parties to develop field procedures.Work with RCA teams, suppliers, 3rd parties, and field teams to establish requirements (equipment and processes) for inspection.Drive conversations between sourcing, engineering, and suppliers to optimize NDT (cost/benefit trade-offs).Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and standard work.Identify technology development opportunities for growth and investment.Provide engineering estimation of NDT examination performance for factory and in-service test conditions.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a BS degree in relevant Science or Engineering field (Materials, Physics, Mathematics, Mechanical).Minimum 7 years experience with non-destructive test methods and procedures.Minimum 10 years engineering experience.Fluency in EnglishAbility and availability to travel (international and domestic) as needed (more than 30%)

Desired Characteristics

Strong verbal and written communication skills.Hands on experience with NDT methods for volumetric (UT) and surface (MPI, PT) inspection. Proficiency in common NDT methods for metals. Good understanding of other acoustic and electromagnetic test methods.Familiarity with casting, forging, welding and joining material processes.
