Senior Marketing Cloud Analyst - Fully Remote!

Futures start here. Where first steps, new friendships, and confident learners are born. At KinderCare Learning Companies, the first and only early childhood education provider recognized with the Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award, we offer a variety of early education and child care options for families. Whether it’s KinderCare Learning Centers, Champions, or Crème de la Crème, we build confidence for kids, families, and the future we share. And we want you to join us in shaping it—in neighborhoods, at work, and in schools nationwide.

At KinderCare Learning Companies, you’ll use your skills and expertise to support the work (and fun) that happens in our sites and centers every day. From marketers and strategists to financial analysts and data engineers, and so much more, we’re all passionate about crafting a world where children, families, and organizations can thrive.

We are seeking a Senior Marketing Cloud Analyst to serve as our primary platform owner and strategic advisor for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This is a solo practitioner role requiring exceptional self-direction, technical depth, and consultative maturity. You will be the definitive voice on Marketing Cloud capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use cases—working at the intersection of Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure we're leveraging the right tool for the right job.

The successful candidate will transform our current Marketing Cloud footprint (limited email Journeys) into a strategic communication engine while maintaining clear boundaries around when Salesforce native automation is the superior choice. This requires someone who can articulate technical realities with diplomacy, hold firm on platform best practices under stakeholder pressure, and serve as a trusted advisor rather than an order-taker.

Responsibilities

Platform Ownership & Strategy

Serve as the single source of truth for Marketing Cloud capabilities, constraints, and roadmap at KinderCare

Develop and maintain a clear decision framework for when Marketing Cloud is appropriate versus Salesforce native automation (Flow Builder, email templates, Process Automation)

Own the Marketing Cloud architecture, including data model design, integration patterns with Sales Cloud/Service Cloud, and governance standards

Proactively identify opportunities to expand Marketing Cloud utilization in alignment with business objectives (email optimization, SMS/MobileConnect expansion, journey sophistication)

Technical Execution

Design, build, test, and deploy email campaigns, automated journeys, and multi-channel communications using Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and Content Builder

Develop and maintain data extensions, SQL queries, and segmentation logic to support targeted communications

Implement personalization using AMPscript and dynamic content

Manage Marketing Cloud Connect integration with Salesforce CRM, ensuring data synchronization integrity and troubleshooting sync issues

Establish and maintain deliverability best practices (authentication, list hygiene, engagement scoring, suppression management)

Plan and execute SMS/MobileConnect implementation when business requirements mature

Consultative Partnership

Serve as the "voice of the platform" when evaluating Product or Marketing requests—providing honest, evidence-based assessments of feasibility, level of effort, and architectural appropriateness

Translate technical constraints into business language for non-technical stakeholders

Proactively educate Marketing and Product teams on platform capabilities and limitations, reducing the frequency of requests for impossible or inadvisable implementations

Document decision rationale and maintain a knowledge base of "why we do it this way" to ensure institutional memory

Governance & Quality

Establish and enforce naming conventions, folder structures, and documentation standards

Develop testing protocols and QA processes to prevent send errors

Monitor platform health metrics, deliverability KPIs, and journey performance

Manage subscriber data quality, consent/compliance (CAN-SPAM, TCPA for SMS), and preference center functionality

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder)

Demonstrated proficiency in AMPscript for email personalization

Strong SQL skills for data extension queries and segmentation

Experience with Marketing Cloud Connect and understanding of synchronized data sources, triggered sends, and CRM integration patterns

Working knowledge of Salesforce Sales Cloud/Service Cloud, particularly Flow Builder, Process Automation, and native email capabilities—you must understand both platforms to advise on tool selection

Understanding of email deliverability fundamentals: authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), sender reputation, list hygiene, and engagement metrics

Demonstrated experience as a solo practitioner or primary platform owner—you've operated without a team to rely on and thrived

Track record of stakeholder management in environments with competing priorities or challenging team dynamics

Experience providing technical guidance to Product or Marketing teams, including the ability to decline or redirect requests that don't align with platform capabilities or best practices

Background in B2C communications at scale, preferably in industries with high-touch customer journeys (education, healthcare, retail, hospitality)

Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administrator Certifications
