Senior Manufacturing Investment Analyst

Job Description

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Global Technical Center – Cole Engineering in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

Relocation: This role is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

The Role:

As a Senior Manufacturing Investment Analyst, you will play a critical role in driving strategic financial decisions across capital investments, technology upgrades, and facility modernization. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure financial compliance, optimize budget performance, and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership that support GM’s enterprise-wide goals.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

Develop financial models and ROI analyses to support decision-making.Partner with Finance teams (Product Development, Capital Management) and Manufacturing stakeholders to align financial strategies with operational goals.Serve as a liaison to ensure transparency and alignment across functions.Ensure adherence to corporate policies related to capital and expense management.Support the preparation and review of appropriation requests and related documentation.Monitor and maintain budget compliance by analyzing forecast drivers and variances.Provide financial analytics to guide business partners in making informed decisions.Develop and present financial insights and recommendations to senior leaders.Translate complex data into clear, strategic narratives that influence enterprise-level decisions.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field3+ years of finance experienceAdvanced Excel skills, strong modeling, and financial valuation skillsStrong analytical skills / fundamental knowledge of corporate financeBusiness acumen and strategic thinking

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong collaboration and communication skills within Finance and with operating partnersStrong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal guidance/supervisionSAP/Hyperion experience a plusProject management skills - action oriented, works towards deadlines, manages team deliverables, with a sense of ownership and urgency.Ability to analyze and synthesize complex issues to provide insight and metrics to drive the right business decisions
