Senior Manufacturing Engineers are directly involved in new product introductions, product transfers and maintaining/continuously improving existing product lines by ensuring time-efficient and cost-effective processes while maintaining overall product quality and compliance. **_Come for a job, stay for a career!_** **A Day in The Life Of:** In this exciting role as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will: + Work closely with manufacturing, quality engineers, other manufacturing engineers as well as R&D, Strategic Sourcing, Quality, Sterilisation and Packaging functions. + You will provide guidance to junior engineers regarding processes to best utilise equipment and manufacturing techniques as well as develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop these techniques. + Work with the site on validation strategy and execution and may be involved in designing and planning layout for such activities as plastics processing, assembly and equipment implementation while adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. + Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling. + Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout. + Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. + May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. + Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. + Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques. + Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilise equipment and manufacturing techniques. + Ensures processes and procedures comply with regulations. + The ideal candidate will demonstrate standout leadership behaviours and will have an expert understanding of a variety of manufacturing technologies and processes. + The ideal candidate is also an expert in understanding process improvement techniques such as DFMA, Kaizen, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, Lean manufacturing, 6-sigma, etc. + We seek out and hire a diverse workforce at every level: We need fresh ideas and inclusive insights to continue to be an innovative industry leader. **Key Skills & Experience** + Minimum Level 8 degree in an Engineering discipline with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. + Manufacturing engineering experience in a medical device related industry, with a demonstrated track record of developing, maintaining and improving manufacturing processes. + Knowledge of polymer processing, raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. + Strong Mechanical Aptitude (aptitude for understanding, designing and using machines and/or tools). + Ability to prepare written procedures, proposals, and reports. + Knowledgeable in risk management methodologies such as PFMEA and in manufacturing plant test strategies. + Experience in Solid Works/AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project desirable. + Project Management experience and qualification desirable. + Six Sigma/Lean certified preferred. **Medtronic offer a competitive salary and flexible Benefits Package** **\#IJ** **Physical Job Requirements** The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.  **Benefits & Compensation** **Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package** A commitment to our employees lives at the core of our values.
