Job overview and responsibilities
This role is responsible for driving integrated Tech Ops strategy and plans by identifying, developing, and driving divisional initiatives to improve the business. This role will lead key cross-functional projects within Tech Ops that require: deep problem solving comprised of strategic planning and tactical solutioning; critical thinking; and business acumen to identify gaps in achieving operational effectiveness and enhance business outcomes. This position analyzes targeted business opportunities in the context of impact and drivers to the Tech Ops mission and objectives. It is responsible for closely collaborating with business unit functions to design project objectives and workstreams to achieve those objectives, assess project performance, ensure measurements of progress are in place and achieved, present scenarios and findings through logical and compelling narratives, and hold teams accountable for meeting established goals and delivery timelines.
Stakeholder Management Governance: Manage matrixed project team and portfolio of projects Provide strategic direction and other governance support to ensure project team remains aligned and progressing toward problem resolution. Manage and maintain team alignment around a project’s journey (progress and direction), proactively identify and remedy forces creating barriers to forward momentum. Establish value-adding governance via thoughtful and deliberate planning and leadership of project meetings, making every team interaction meaningfully count toward driving project forward.
Business Case Assessments: Lead business case assessments and cross-functional Tech Ops projects requiring deeper analysis and review. Employ critical thinking to design the evaluation of strategic opportunities with little guidance, deriving project plans based on ‘connecting dots’ and identifying operational gaps. Leverage data analysis and Tech Ops business understanding, SME network, and personal acumen to further drive strategic initiatives. Synthesize analysis and develop clear, coherent, narratives for each business case, driving the development of recommendations to address opportunities and answer the “so what.”
Communication Delivering Insights: Craft the “Tech Ops story” by aligning strategic initiatives, and the business outcomes they create – with division goals and objectives. Develop and present regular updates to divisional and cross-departmental executives regarding progress on key initiatives and business opportunities. Insights from projects and business case reviews need to be communicated with coherent narratives and compiled into Board-like, polished presentation decks
