STS Technical Services is hiring a Senior Manager Structures Engineering in Hebron, Kentucky. This role is responsible for engineering data, instructions, documents, and technical support that ensure the safety, airworthiness, and reliability of company aircraft across ATA chapter subjects: 25, 27 (structural aspects), 51–57, 71, and 78 (structural aspects). The Senior Manager will also coordinate engineering activities for regulatory and non-regulatory projects while aligning with established corporate goals, objectives, and policies.
Job Responsibilities Prioritize Structures Engineering actions and manage the activities of Engineers supporting heavy transport fleets Lead the Liaison Engineering Support Team to supplement AOG/24/7 technical support Provide budgetary data and manage project documentation for major/minor structural repairs Ensure FAR/AD/NPRM compliance across the fleets Manage Fleet Type SMEs or Managers of Structures Engineering and provide technical support Issue instructions and documents to support operations and ensure safe, timely return to service Chair, create, and manage working groups for structural programs and repairs Develop and/or obtain AMOCs for repairs, alterations, and modifications Support new and previously operated aircraft integration, including repair and AD analysis Manage the Corrosion Control Program (CPCP) and Repair Assessment Program (RAP) Develop and implement compliance programs for Repairs, Alterations, and Modifications, including Aging Aircraft Programs such as Widespread Fatigue Damage (WFD) Liaise with OEMs, MROs, regulators, and engineering departments for product issues and emerging safety concerns Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to build a high-performing Structures Engineering team Oversee departmental budgets, resources, and process improvements to support continuous improvement Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience Minimum 15 years in Aircraft Structures Engineering with management experience Strong knowledge of widebody aircraft structures, systems, and component design Proven experience building, managing, and developing technical teams Ability to interface with OEMs and regulatory agencies effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with M&E and document management systems Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Demonstrated ability to innovate and bring vision to the engineering function Preferred Qualifications Master’s in Engineering (MBA preferred) FAA A&P Certificate Airline or Aerospace industry experience About STS Technical ServicesSTS Technical Services is the staffing arm of STS Aviation Group.
