How will you make an impact in this role?

The Global Accounts Receivables team is part of the Enterprise Platforms. The team plays a key role in the development of New Card Products, Benefit Programs, Lending and Commerce initiatives that help grow revenue, deepen customer engagement, and increase card member value. The team drives the development of products and software that deliver on business growth while increasing speed to market, enhancing customer experience, and building out our global next generation cloud based microservices platform for Accounts Receivable.

 

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and inspire software engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and resilient applications while fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and inclusivity.Provide hands-on technical leadership in Java and/or Python, ensuring adherence to architecture best practices, design patterns, and clean code principles.Architect, design, and implement microservices-based, API-first, and event-driven solutions using Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Reactor (Reactive Programming).Drive adoption of modern architecture patterns such as CQRS, event sourcing, and reactive systems to enable scalability, resilience, and maintainability.Oversee the full software development lifecycle — design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring ensuring engineering excellence and alignment with business priorities.Collaborate with senior leaders, architects, and cross-functional teams to define technology roadmaps and execute strategic initiatives.Manage engineering resources, delivery timelines, and budgets, maintaining accountability for performance, quality, and outcomes.Champion DevOps practices, automation, CI/CD, and observability to improve development velocity and reliability.Provide guidance on data architecture and technologies, including RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases like Cassandra, optimizing for performance and scalability.Drive adoption of cloud technologies, with exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as BigQuery, DataProc, and Airflow being a strong advantage.Foster strong collaboration between engineering, product, and business teams, aligning technology initiatives with organizational objectives.Encourage innovation, continuous learning, and technical growth within the team, while promoting best practices in software craftsmanship and system design.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 4+ years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing engineering teams and large-scale projects.Hands-on expertise in Java and/or Python, with deep knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and modern backend development practices.Strong understanding of software architecture, microservices, API design, and distributed systems.Proven experience designing scalable systems leveraging RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, with a strong foundation in data modeling and performance optimization.Demonstrated experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices, including CI/CD, test automation, and observability.Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to drive strategic initiatives, build technical roadmaps, and mentor engineers to deliver high-impact business outcomes.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with reactive programming frameworks such as Project Reactor or Spring WebFlux.Deep understanding and implementation experience of CQRS and event-driven architectures.Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies such as BigQuery, DataProc, Airflow, Pub/Sub, or equivalent cloud data pipelines.Experience working with API gateways, service mesh architectures, or event streaming tools like Kafka.Proven success driving engineering excellence, automation, and innovation in complex enterprise environments.Passion for building and scaling diverse, high-performing engineering teams that deliver measurable business value.
