As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering - AWS Cloud / Data Platforms at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector's AI/ML & Data Platforms team, you will assume a leadership position by providing technical coaching and guidance to diverse technical teams. Furthermore, you will actively anticipate the requirements and potential dependencies of other functions across the firm.

Job responsibilities

Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasksBe accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and proceduresExplore, design, evaluate and implement secure Data Lake solutions within an AWS environment, including new offered featuresExecute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops and creates secure and high-quality production code, that maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems with reviewing and debugging code written by othersProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints - met by software code developmentGathers, analyze, synthesize and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessaryProvides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the teamCreates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training and certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.  Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability with AWS Glue, EMR, Athena, Redshift and Lake FormationAdvanced in coding one or more programming language(s) (i.e., Python, Java, etc.) and database querying languages Experience designing, developing and maintaining production-grade cloud solutions in Cloud ecosystems (i.e. AWS, GCP and Azure)Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightDemonstrate knowledge in developing, debugging and maintaining code in large corporate environment, with one or more modern programming languages and databases Overall knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle, including agile methodologies with CI/CD to rapidly build & test application code, Application Resiliency, and SecurityAbility to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiativesExperience with leading, hiring, developing, and recognizing technology talented teamsExperience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, with in-depth knowledge of the services industry and IT systems
