**Job Description**
The Senior Manager of Organizational Communications leads and transforms the sector s internal and executive communications into a strategic mixternal function. This role defines the sector s overarching narrative and key messages, ensuring a consistent, aligned story for employees, customers, partners, and stakeholders through internal platforms, social channels, and the website.
You will lead internal communications across the sector, advising senior leaders, managing executive messaging, and shaping employee engagement through town halls, newsletters, intranet content, and other internal channels. At the same time, you will ensure our narrative reaches external audiencesreinforcing sector priorities, mission, and impact.
Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, you will guide the overall sector story, drive core messaging, and lead a small content team producing high-quality written and visual content that keeps internal and external communications cohesive, strategic, and aligned. This role is central to how we communicate and engage across the sector. You will help build modern communication capabilities that strengthen culture, improve employee alignment, and enhance our presence with customers and stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
Internal & Executive Communications
+ Develop and execute an internal communications strategy to align employees with company priorities and objectives.
+ Manage messaging for key initiatives, including organizational changes, all-hands meetings, newsletters, and executive updates.
+ Define and maintain the sector narrative, ensuring clarity and alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
+ Lead executive communications, including speeches, talking points, presentations, and town hall content.
+ Lead crisis communications planning and execution.
Content & Channel Leadership (Internal Owned External)
+ Lead content strategy and governance across internal platforms (intranet, newsletters) and external channels (website, LinkedIn, X, YouTube).
+ Translate complex technical topics into accessible narratives for internal and external audiences.
+ Maintain editorial standards and a unified voice across all communication platforms.
+ Partner with Marketing Communications, Business Winning, and technical teams to prioritize and deliver high-value content.
Execution & Collaboration
+ Serve as a player-coach: drive strategy while contributing hands-on to content creation.
+ Lead and mentor a small content team producing written, visual, and digital assets.
+ Collaborate across the sector and company to ensure consistent, timely, and high-quality messaging.
+ Support issues, change, and sensitive communications with clear guidance and sound judgment.
+ Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to anticipate communication needs and ensure readiness.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ 810 years in internal communications, executive communications, organizational communications, corporate communications, or digital content.
+ Experience in defense, aerospace, national security, engineering, or other technical sectors.
+ Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and project management skills.
+ Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, compelling communications.
+ Experience working directly with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
+ Strong internal communications foundation with experience developing employee-facing messaging, campaigns, and initiatives.
+ Experience managing website and social media channels, integrating content across platforms.
+ Leadership experience guiding content creators or small teams.
+ Ability to handle sensitive information and operate effectively in a matrixed technical environment.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $132000 - $224400
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
