Senior Manager of Innovation and Digitalization (Robotics, Advanced Data, Data Analytics)


Location:  Mexico City or Cuautitlán - Izcalli, Mexico
Job Type: Full-Time Permanent Role
Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days in the office, rest work from home)


Role Purpose: Join our team as a Digital Transformation Leader, where you will drive the digital transformation of DHL's Mexico organization in alignment with global DHL Supply Chain guidelines. As a pivotal figure in our journey towards enhanced digitalization and automation, you will spearhead initiatives involving Robotics, Automation, RPAs, Power Automate, Data Analytics, and (Gen-) Artificial Intelligence within the logistics sector.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Development: Create and implement a comprehensive digitalization strategy (Robotics, RPAs, Automation) and Data Analytics (analytics products, AI) that aligns with business objectives. Consultation and Support: Act as an innovation and technology consultant, assisting the business in delivering value and solving operational challenges through automation and data analytics. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Operational Engineering, and other departments to gather requirements and ensure successful deployment of technologies. Business Case Development: Guide business units in creating business cases and quantifying the benefits of innovative technologies to support investment decisions. Research and Development: Stay updated on industry trends to identify opportunities for impactful innovation. Innovation Solution Design: Lead the design, planning, development, and evaluation of innovative solutions using Robotics, Machine Learning, and (Gen-) AI. Workflow Optimization: Continuously test and optimize automation workflows for maximum efficiency while adhering to security guidelines. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships and influence decision-makers to ensure operational feasibility and support for innovation strategies. Vendor Management: Manage the local portfolio of technology vendors, ensuring compliance with procurement and data protection standards. Communication Leadership: Act as the primary communicator for innovation strategy, sharing progress and success stories to foster a culture of innovation. Training Development: Create training materials to support the adoption of innovation solutions across the country and region. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and data analysts, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Innovation Forum Facilitation: Manage the Innovation Forum with key stakeholders to drive alignment and prioritize innovation opportunities. Reporting: Provide regular updates to global teams on robotics, automation, and data analytics initiatives.


Requirements:


Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in logistics, supply chain, or transportation; experience in Service Logistics (3PL) preferred. Digital Transformation Expertise: Proven track record in driving digital transformation and innovation initiatives. Multinational Experience: Experience in a multinational or matrixed organization is preferred. Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading innovation, digitalization, or advanced analytics projects. Change Management Skills: Expertise in stakeholder engagement and influencing at multiple organizational levels. Cross-Functional Team Management: Strong background in managing teams across IT, Engineering, Operations, and Business Units. Business Case Development: Proven capability in building business cases and aligning technological solutions to operational goals. Vendor Management: Highly preferred experience in sourcing and compliance with internal guidelines. Local Knowledge: Experience in the Mexican landscape is required; additional experience in Latin America or globally is a plus. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred. Certifications: Project Management (e.g., PMP, Agile), Lean Six Sigma, or Data Analytics certifications are a plus. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of robotics, automation, and analytics tools; programming skills (e.g., Power BI, Python, UiPath, SQL) are a plus. Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken); Portuguese is a nice to have.
