Job Title: North America Payroll Senior Manager

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Manager of Payroll to lead payroll operations across North America, including the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. This role demands deep expertise in U.S. labor, wage, and taxation laws, along with hands-on experience managing multi-state payroll, deferred compensation, and equity compensation programs. The ideal candidate will bring strong proficiency in ADP GlobalView, advanced Excel and data analysis skills, and fluency in both Spanish and English. Based in Guadalajara, Mexico this position requires a leader who can ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while managing vendor relationships and supporting global mobility initiatives.
This is a high-impact role that goes beyond payroll processing. You will serve as a strategic partner across the organization, driving process improvements and collaborating with cross-functional teams including HR, Accounting, Tax, Legal, and external service providers. You’ll be responsible for resolving payroll-related issues, onboarding new employees, and providing insights on payroll, tax processing, and policy matters. Your ability to manage recurring assignments while contributing to special projects and addressing complex developments will be essential to success.

Key Responsibilities
Operations
Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for North America (USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico), ensuring timely and accurate processing across multiple states.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and tax regulations, including employment tax filings, benefit taxation, and timely government reporting.Manage and optimize payroll systems and integrations, with a strong preference for ADP GlobalView Payroll and Workday HCM.Lead initiatives related to deferred and equity compensation, including tax reporting and compliance.Support global mobility, relocation, and retirement programs in collaboration with Finance, HR, Legal, and Benefits teams.Maintain and update payroll procedures, documentation, policies, and controls, including SOC1 and 401k audit processes.Serve as a subject matter expert on payroll law, tax regulations, accounting principles, and system interfaces.Manage periodic and ad hoc payrolls, timecard administration, quarter-end filings, and year-end reporting for global employee populations.Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive process improvements, automation, and scalability while maintaining strong quality controls.Resolve payroll-related issues, onboard new employees, and manage relationships with third-party payroll providers.Support internal and external audits and assist with payroll setup in new countries as operations expand.Review and approve payroll transactions, ensure general ledger accuracy, and support month-end close activities.Design and run ad hoc reports to support payroll and internal customer needs.Advise senior management and business leads on payroll and tax-related matters.Leadership

10+ years of payroll experience, including 5+ years in a senior or managerial role.Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken)Expert knowledge of U.S. labor laws, wage regulations, and payroll taxation.Proven experience with multi-state and international payroll operations.Strong background in deferred and equity compensation.Prior experience with ADP GlobalView highly preferred.Advanced Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables).Excellent understanding of payroll accounting and SOX compliance.Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Experience with executive payroll processing and onboarding global payroll solutions.High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and confidentiality.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
