This role provides a unique opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to work with leaders, managers, Accounting Policy, Regulatory Reporting groups, and external vendors on the largest portion of the Company’s balance sheet and a major driver of revenue. This includes activity processed through our treasury management system for the Company’s securities, borrowings, and derivatives. As part of the Corporate Controller’s Department, the Bank Accounting group is responsible for closing the books for the three bank subsidiaries and two trust companies.
The role will focus heavily on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial results for the Bank Accounting group. Responsibilities include oversight of complex journal entries, detailed reconciliations, and critical disclosure deliverables. The role also includes oversight of SOX compliance over investment and hedging activities, support for system implementation efforts, and fair value measurement and testing. Reporting to an existing Senior Manager of Bank Accounting, the individual will be instrumental in executing a tight monthly accounting close process and ensuring the quality of critical financial deliverables.
**What you have**
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
+ CPA and/or CFA strongly preferred.
+ 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience; experience with securities and derivatives accounting preferred.
+ Proven ability to review complex data with exceptional detail orientation in a high transaction volume environment.
+ Operational accounting experience within banking, financial services, or treasury functions preferred.
+ Experience with Calypso or similar Treasury Management Systems is a strong plus.
+ Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
+ PeopleSoft or other ERP experience a plus
+ Experience with Alteryx, SQL, or similar data tools a plus
+ Demonstrated ability to manage tight monthly close processes and communicate complex information clearly.
**What you'll do:**
+ Own and execute the monthly accounting close process for investment and capital markets activity, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
+ Perform rigorous review detail-oriented review of complex journal entries, reconciliations, and key disclosure schedules.
+ Oversee ongoing operational accounting for AFS and HTM securities, as well as funding activities such as repos and other liquidity initiatives.
+ Support derivatives and hedge accounting processes.
+ Assist in system implementation activities for the treasury management system, including SOX control oversight, operational testing, and process enhancements.
+ Respond to inquiries from SEC Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, and external auditors regarding investments and derivatives.
+ Contribute to other operational support and ad hoc initiatives to strengthen overall accounting processes.

CO Salary Range: USD $83,800.00 - $160,000.00 / Year
