Data privacy and adherence to regulations such as GDPR which provide for rights of access to data for individuals are becoming the norm. The Senior Manager, Digital Product Management – Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) will focus on the delivery of critical capabilities to enable and evidence AXP’s compliance with the processing of personal data and rights of access in accordance with global privacy regulations.

Specifically, this role will be responsible for managing the Data Subject Request Processor (DSRP) product vision, strategy, and roadmap based on key customer needs and feedback, enabling the efficient automation of DSAR requests across the Enterprise. You will be part of a cross functional team shaping the long-term strategy for this space, while also focusing on the efficient delivery of our ambitious 2026 roadmap in partnership with lines of business, product, engineering, and second line partners. Through the delivery of automated solutions and process enhancements, this role will execute critical near-term goals, while designing a new way of fulfilling DSAR requests for internal partners and external customers. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, continuously refine, and execute the vision and product strategy for the Data Subject Request Processor platform and associated data discovery and integration at American Express, including regular assessment of the global regulatory environment to inform future platform needsWork across the DSAR team to develop, communicate, and execute on our core roadmap across prioritized markets and DSAR typesBuild relationships and drive strategic alignment with critical business partners such as International Privacy Risk Management and Global Servicing to evangelize and get buy in to our DSAR technical solutions, and manage responses to regulatory initiatives affecting our portfolioWork with the DSAR product team in the development and maintenance of required program collateral and assets, including roadmaps, updates, project tracking, and informational hubs/documents for partner engagementPartner with Engineering to develop automation and reporting solutions that are both compliant, yet built to scale and achieve business goalsCoordinate with International Privacy Risk Management and Global Servicing to prioritize significant incoming business demandLine management of junior product associates

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of experience within Product Management or oversight function  Demonstrated excellence in Product Management and leading cross functional teams delivering technology-driven business solutions across the EnterpriseExperience in and knowledge of the Data Privacy space, with a particular focus on highly complex data and automated solutions catering for multiple markets and regulationsExperience leading and coaching multiple high performing junior product owners and delivering through a teamHighly organized and self-motivated individual who can combine problem-resolution, insights-driven prioritization, and ability to influence across band levels to achieve critical business goalsRigorous attention to detail, with demonstrated proficiency in creating transparent, well-communicated, and scalable processes and communications, while leading the implementation of those processes across a matrixed environmentConfidence in decision-making in complex and ambiguous situations; comfortable troubleshooting and aligning conflicting interestsAbility to understand and communicate complex technical concepts and processes to a wide variety of audiencesProactive analytical skills with a keen eye towards implications on strategy and capability impactsDemonstrated ability to drive results and optimize resources to achieve goalsFlexibility to work and manage business partners across multiple time zonesDriven, entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to act with a high level of independenceBachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field
