Senior Manager Business Continuity
Job Description Senior Manager - Business Continuity The Senior Manager Business Continuity is responsible for the development and coordination of the corporate-wide Business Continuity Program including planning, organizing, leading, managing, and controlling all aspects of the ongoing program. The Senior Manager Business Continuity provides guidance, manages large projects and implementations, and manages the Business Continuity team on initiatives in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. The Senior Manager will collaborate with Department Directors and the Executive team to develop and implement plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions. Position Responsibilities: Business Continuity Planning and Leadership Establishes corporate-wide Business Continuity objectives and requirements. Ensures that presentations and delivery of business threat, vulnerability and/or risk briefings meet program objectives. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity lifecycle activities including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Determines the program schedule for conducting major annual BCP project phases (including but not limited to business impact analysis, risk analysis, BC plan updates, validation exercises, and incremental program improvements). Leads sites in their BCP analysis phases and assist departments/ divisions to determine site level critical business processes. Identifies and implements recovery operations and methods to allow the company to function at limited or partial capacity if part or all of the infrastructure is damaged or destroyed. Leads response and recovery activities for high profile technology disruptions including cyberattacks, natural disasters, man-made disasters, and other crises scenarios. Supports the Director Corporate Security - CCRM in aligning all BCP planning, initiatives and goals with Organizational goals and Infrastructure capabilities. Strategy/Risk Assessment Continuously evaluates changing business requirements and the existing CCRM program and its risk to Comerica business and raise emerging threats and issues to the attention of the Executive management team. Assesses new or changing regulatory requirements and the effect on department (s) to ensure all regulatory and compliance controls remain effective and current. Identifies and makes recommendations for change and adaptation to meet the needs of the business. Identifies and makes recommendations for solutions to infrastructure obstacles and business challenges. Liaise with key infrastructure teams to identify gaps, set recovery time objectives, and convey business needs/expectations. Works with Operational and Technology contacts to determine acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements for Comerica systems, applications, and services. Develops cost-effective and viable mitigation strategies in partnership with senior leadership. Training and Development Establishes the BCP exercise plan roadmap and schedule based on strategic importance and customer requirements. Establishes training schedule and requirements for business continuity preparedness. Provides instructional and informational materials on how employees are expected to respond during an emergency. Leads and delivers presentations of the Business Continuity program status to senior management. Develops and leads Comerica's Business Continuity Policy. Coordinates the annual CCRM plan reviews and assessments to update BC plans and establishes the training schedule and requirements. Establishes business continuity testing and exercise methodologies. Conducts business continuity training when required for employees in all functional areas. Leadership and Team Development Provides guidance to and coordinates the efforts of the CCRM team in developing recovery procedures for key areas of the organization. Builds a team of highly skilled professionals with strong business continuity skills. Selects, motivates, and retains a high performing CCRM team. Manages and develops the CCRM team cultivating a spirit of one team with shared goals and objectives. Serves as the coordination backup for the Director of Corporate Security - CCRM as required. Qualifications Position Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or similar field or High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of progressively responsible experience + 8 years of Business Continuity / Resiliency Program discipline that includes development, testing, and maintenance of Business Continuity or System Recovery Plans + 8 years of Building and maintaining Work Area Recovery Solutions for Recoverable Planning Units deemed as critical + 8 years of Influencing Business Continuity strategy for large organizations + 8 years of Leading large, complex/critical Business Continuity projects + 6 years of Managing/leading others + 6 years of Experience coordinating corporate-wide, complex projects/assignments simultaneously and completing tasks accurately and on a timely basis Licenses/Certifications + Preferred, CBCP - Certified Business Continuity Professional + Preferred, ISO 22301 Certificate -- Business Continuity Standard About Comerica We know our employees are critical to our overall success and we are dedicated to investing in their future.
