How will you make an impact in this role?
The Senior Manager, Audit Competency and Skill Development, is responsible for the execution, integration, and ongoing operation of the Internal Audit Skills and Development group. Reporting to the Director, this role supports the development of IAG skill development, career pathing, competency framework, in alignment with Audit Standards and Industry Best Practices.
The role plays a critical part in strengthening program ownership, cross-functional coordination, and control discipline, supporting Internal Audit’s ability to maintain appropriate staffing competencies and skills in alignment with regulatory and professional expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Execution:
Execute the newly established operating model, ensuring consistent implementation across all key process areas.
Drive day-to-day coordination across Professional Practices, Colleague Experience Group (CEG), and Audit Leadership to ensure clear ownership, effective handoffs, and integrated execution.
Identify execution gaps, inconsistencies, or breakdowns in accountability and escalate appropriately.
Provide input on skills and competency needs as part of the annual planning process, including utilization and staffing needs
Partner with Professional Practices to support skills and staffing adequacy assessments and related follow-up actions.
Colleague Enablement
Support consistent application of the IAG competency framework
Monitor Audit Specific skill development or action plans; identify risks, delays, or gaps and coordinate remediation.
Governance, Controls & Documentation:
Support documentation and maintenance of controls, and RCMs to ensure audit-ready evidence and sustainability.
Track action plans and milestones related to QA findings, regulatory feedback, and internal commitments.
Support Management Reporting, QA reviews, and Audit Committee or regulatory materials, as required.
Stakeholder Partnership & Influence:
Coordinate across CEG, Professional Practices, and portfolio leadership to ensure consistent execution and accountability.
Prepare and deliver talent-related insights for senior management and committee-level reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Significant experience within Internal Audit, Risk Management, Compliance, or a regulated financial services environment.
Demonstrated experience executing or skills assessments and or/competency management
Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills aligned to audit and regulatory expectations.
Preferred:
Experience supporting enterprise or audit-specific talent and performance programs.
Familiarity with audit methodology, QA, or regulatory examination environments.
Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations.

Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
