Membership Portfolio Services, within our US Consumer Services Business, is responsible for developing and scaling several growing businesses that are strategically important to American Express. We are developing unique and differentiated ways to strengthen the Membership Model by connecting Card Members with Merchants that create opportunities to help drive our growth over the mid-to-long term.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The Senior Manager, Amex Ads Product role sits within the Amex Offers Digital Media team and reports to the Director, Amex Ads Product. This individual will support the growth of Amex’s digital advertising network, which is focused on introducing new channels for advertisers to engage Amex’s customers across our digital platforms (e.g., Amex Travel, Resy, Amex App). This individual will own the product strategy, roadmap, and delivery of foundational capabilities that power Amex’s advertising products, including targeting, measurement, reporting, and billing. This individual will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of these new capabilities in partnership with Amex’s engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Own the product roadmap of Amex’s new advertising capabilities (e.g., Measurement, Reporting, Billing), ensuring alignment with strategic priorities of the Amex Ads team.Lead the design, development, and deployment of these new ad capabilities, collaborating across numerous platforms, products, and cross-functional teams (e.g., product, technology, marketing, control management, legal).Translate business requirements into actionable tech specifications (e.g., PRDs, features, user stories) for engineering teams.Closely track delivery of each capability, prioritize engineering effort (when necessary), and manage an active backlog.Develop product delivery artifacts in accordance with regulatory requirements.Help resolve tech issues that arise and proactively identify opportunities to automate processes and drive value for advertisers.Enact comprehensive compliance and risk management processes to meet New Product Approval (NPA) requirements.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree4+ years of product development, product management, and/or strategy experienceExceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex technical systems, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.Experience translating business requirements into actionable tech specifications (e.g., PRDs, features, user stories) and ensuring technology deliverables are built with high quality.Strategic mindset with a proven ability to work in white space and ambiguity, identifying new growth opportunities and defining a clear execution plan.Self-starter with experience leading complex projects end-to-end and driving consensus across multiple products and cross functional teams.Strong detail orientation and highly organized.Strong collaboration and relationship management skills with ability to engage, align, and inspire internal and external partners.Customer-centric mindset with strong business acumenExcellent communication and presentation skills with proficiency in Microsoft Powerpoint.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to develop and execute product vision, strategy, and prioritized backlog.Experience leading technology scrum teams in an agile environment, including software developers, engineers, and architects.Experience influencing technology teams and roadmaps without authority or direct product ownership.Experience with backlog management software (Rally/JIRA).Proficiency in SQL.Experience in the advertising industry and/or Commerce Media Networks.
Salary Range: $123,000.00 to $215,250.00 annually + bonus + benefits
