C.H. Robinson is seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Water Logistics – Energy to design, launch, and scale the commercial water hauling operations for Breaker19, our innovative energy logistics platform. This is a true builder role; part operator, part strategist, and part deal‑maker. In this role you will be responsible for architecting the processes, partnerships, and infrastructure that will shape the long-term success of our fluid transportation offering in the upstream sector.
As the Senior Manager, Water Logistics – Energy you will require deep industry expertise, a strong commercial mindset, and the ability to translate operator needs into scalable operational and product strategies. You will work at the intersection of commercial development, operations, and technology leading market strategy, customer engagement, and operational execution across multiple basins.
Responsibilities:Develop and execute Breaker19’s end‑to‑end strategy for fluid hauling, including service model, pricing, operational framework, and geographic expansionBuild the commercial and operational infrastructure needed to scale water hauling operations across multiple basinsAssess market conditions, competitive landscapes, and customer requirements to shape product and service offeringsPartner closely with the Breaker19 Development Team to ensure product readiness for commercial rolloutLead business development efforts with exploration and production (E&P) operators, saltwater disposal (SWD) operators, and midstream water providersStructure, negotiate, and oversee master service agreements (MSAs), hauling contracts, rate sheets, and performance service level agreementsBuild and maintain strong customer relationships as the primary point of contact for major upstream operatorsTranslate operator pain points and workflow challenges into actionable operational and product enhancements within the Breaker19 platformDevelop, implement, and standardize processes for dispatching, routing, and managing owned, contracted, or partner-operated water hauling fleetsEstablish and monitor KPIs related to safety, on-time performance, cost-per-barrel, fleet utilization, and margin contributionCreate contractor qualification, compliance, and onboarding processes for multi-hauler networksBuild for scalability, ensuring operations support rapid volume growth and multi-basin expansionBuild and lead a high-performing team across operations, dispatch, and commercial functionsRecruit, manage, and evaluate water hauling contractors, vendors, and strategic partnersImplement scorecards, performance reviews, and accountability frameworks for third-party haulersEnsure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing water hauling and oilfield transportDevelop and maintain safety protocols, incident reporting processes, and compliance programs aligned with operator expectations and internal standardsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or universityMinimum 7 years of experience in oilfield water hauling, oil & gas logistics, or upstream operationsMinimum 3 years of operator-side experience in water management workflows, including:Produced water and freshwater movementMulti-hauler coordination challengesSWD facility operationsTicketing, billing, dispatch, and route optimizationAt least 2 years of demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage commercial contracts within the upstream sectorMinimum 2 years of experience building new operational functionsPreferred Qualifications:Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with high autonomyDeep network of relationships with water haulers, disposal operators, and E&P water management teamsPrior experience launching or scaling a fluid hauling or logistics operationFamiliarity with technology platforms used for oilfield logistics, e-ticketing, and dispatchProficient in the Microsoft suite of programsExperience managing cross-functional projects Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration, and influencing skills Self-starter, able to think, plan, and act independently Natural in establishing and managing relationships, with varying levels of stakeholders Values a diverse and inclusive work environmentWe will review applications for this role on an ongoing basis and encourage all interested candidates to apply at their earliest convenience.
Compensation Range
$108,900.00 - $183,800.00The base pay range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for this specific location. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
