Job Description
The Senior Manager Structures Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and reliability of Atlas Air aircraft. This position focuses on structural engineering across multiple ATA chapters (below). The engineer will lead technical efforts, develop engineering documentation, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support aircraft operations and compliance.

ATA 51–57 – General structures, doors, fuselage, nacelles/pylons, stabilizers, windows, wings
ATA 71 – Powerplant (structural aspects)
ATA 78 – Exhaust (structural aspects)
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing the activities of the Engineers in the Department to provide technical support for fleets.
- Responsible for managing the Liaison Engineering Support Team to supplement existing Structures Engineering AOG/24/7 technical support team.
- Provide budgetary data on projects and issues as directed.
- Responsible for effectively managing all Heavy Maintenance & Conversion MROs – Major/Minor Repair Documentation.
- Issue instructions and documents to economically support operations and return aircraft to service in a safe, airworthy, and timely manner.
- Manage the Project Structures Team with FAR/AD/NPRM compliance and the review, analysis, and responses of Fleet team Idea Exchange (FIX) of the existing Fleets.
- Support integration of new and previously operated aircraft. Analysis and determination of Major Repairs, AD’s, STC’s and the follow on actions prior to Aircraft induction to the fleet.
- Evaluate Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Notices of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRMs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Service Letters (SLs), and other notifications of in-service issues.
- Develop and/or obtain approved data, acceptable data, and Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOCs) for repairs, alterations, and modifications.
- CPCP (Corrosion Protection Control Program): Evaluate reported Level 2 and Level 3 corrosion findings, develop corrective action plans, and submits plan in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate discrepancies that require mandatory reporting to the FAA, and submit these reports to the FAA in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop product improvement modifications as dictated by Reliability indicators.
- Organize, develop and provide all necessary Structures Engineering documentation required to complete aircraft Structural modifications and repairs within the allocated time schedule and budget allowance.
Manage the Repair Assessment Program (RAP) and programs to comply with new FARs on repairs and other aging aircraft programs such as Widespread Fatigue Damage (WFD).

Skills and Requirements
8+ years of aircraft structures engineering at the management level
Strong understanding of ATA chapters related to aircraft structures; furnishings, doors, fuselage, pylons, stabilizers, windows, wings, etc.
Experience with FAA regulations, ADs, NPRMs, and AMOCs
Ability to develop and review engineering data and repair instructions
Airline, MRO, or OEM Industry experience
Proficiency in CAD and structural analysis tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Availability for 24/7 technical support rotation Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field)
A&P License
