What you’ll be doing

Reporting into the Director, Strategy & Planning, the Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning supports key Marketing and Line Of Business partners across the bank to plan the build, documentation, and optimization of digital and direct journeys specific to CIBC’s owned channels (ex. cibc.com, email) with the goal of achieving Digital & Direct Marketing conversions (ex. digital sales, product usage, digital banking usage).

As part of the larger Strategy & Planning team, the incumbent possesses in-depth expertise regarding marketing data, audiences, journeys, offers and capabilities to inform our Go To Market strategy and plan. In addition, the Senior Manager develops, standardizes, and optimizes our Go To Market processes, framework, and rituals to ensure a smooth hand-off from our Strategy & Planning team to our Execution team. The Senior Manager regularly leads executive level discussions and influences the prioritization of digital marketing initiatives delivered by our Agile Marketing team based on estimated return on effort

How you’ll succeed

Go To Market Strategy & Planning - You will work closely with CIBC’s larger Brand & Marketing teams by supporting our Go To Market strategy and plan for Digital & Direct Marketing campaigns & journeys. Your strong relationships will extend across other teams including Digital & Enablement, Enterprise Digital, and our Line Of Business partners.Act Like an Owner - The Senior Manager acts like a business owner for their assigned portfolio and agile marketing pod by understanding and influencing our path from current to future state direct marketing capabilities.Transformation - The successful incumbent will play a lead role in transforming the way we work.Subject Matter Expert - The incumbent also acts as a subject matter expert and business lead for their assigned digital marketing projects.Change Agent - The Senior Manager acts as a key change agent by leading our Go To Market strategy and plan for future state Proof Of Concepts (POCs) and campaign pilots aimed to improve our data, decisioning, and delivery of marketing messages to our existing clients.Collaboration & Implementation - The Senior Manager will be responsible for collaborating with marketing modernization, execution, and analytics teams to identify Day 2 operations post the implementation of new projects, technologies, and pilots.   

Who you are

You have solid digital marketing experience working within the PEMO framework (i.e. Plan, Execute, Measure & Optimize).Curious, innovative, and analytical in your approach. You obsess over understanding, documenting, and optimizing digital & direct marketing client experiences and journeys to improve conversions while maximizing the team’s return on effort. You understand the complexities of non-linear, omni-channel journeys supported by our marketing technology eco-system.Data driven insights and leveraging a test-learn-optimize approach are core to your recommended marketing strategies and plans.    Proactive, resourceful, and results driven. You are a key contributor and change agent focused on transforming the way we work with the goal of leveraging new data and marketing platforms and technologies that aim to present the right message to the right client in the right channel at the right time. You have a strong understanding of our future state vision and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify our path from current to future state, while focusing on a solid plan for Day 2 operations.Strong influencing, story telling, and presentation skills. Highly effective in setting context, simplifying complex concepts, insights, and recommendations in order to achieve senior executive buy-in and to effectively support our marketing transformation journey.   5+ years of hands-on experience in digital marketing, including organic search, paid digital media, on-site marketing/ journey optimization, digital performance reporting.5+ years of hands-on experience in direct marketing strategies & tactics targeting existing clients with a strong focus on onboarding, engagement, and franchising.You possess strong change management skills with strategic consideration given to people, process, and technology. You are equally motivated to achieve both business outcomes (ex. digital sales) and operational efficiencies (ex. reduced effort and time to market).You have a proven track record for achieving aggressive digital conversion targets (ex: digital banking registration & usage, digital account open, product usage, etc.).Solid knowledge and understanding of current digital media platforms and digital marketing tools (ex: Google Marketing Platform, Facebook, SFMC, Adobe Analytics, Data Studio, Tableau).Values matter to you.
