Senior Manager, Software Engineering

This model supports real-time problem-solving, stronger relationships, and the kind of precision that drives great outcomes. **Your Career** We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow development teams working on SaaS Data Security, a new product offering built on Palo Alto Networks’ Cortex platform. This leader will be responsible for delivering highly scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native services, collaborating with global teams, and mentoring engineers to deliver next-generation SaaS Data Security solutions. In addition this leader will be responsible for maintaining the existing product offering and lead the migration of customers post GA of the new offering. **Your Impact** + **Leadership & People Management** + Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers in Gurugram + Foster a culture of customer obsession, innovation, delivering value, and high performance + Drive hiring, onboarding, and career development of engineers (including succession planning) + Partner with US leadership team to set clear priorities and provide clarity of how to best manage engineering activities across multiple delivery streams + **Technical Delivery** + Own end-to-end delivery of critical components in SaaS Data Security on SASE and Cortex Platforms + Work with architects and product managers to design scalable and secure solutions + Ensure best practices in cloud-native development, CI/CD, and site reliability + Prioritize quality by partnering with QA teams as well as drive test-driven development concepts within the Dev teams + Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical guidance, and architectural decisions + **Cross-Functional Collaboration** + Partner with global engineering teams in the U.S., Israel, and other locations + Collaborate with product management, UX, and customer support to align delivery with customer needs + Communicate progress, risks, and technical tradeoffs to stakeholders + Partner with Support and other Engineering teams to implement follow-the-sun model to provide 24/7 support coverage for existing product offerings + **Innovation & Scale** + Champion modern development practices in microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and distributed systems + Ensure security and compliance are embedded into the development lifecycle + Continuously optimize performance, cost efficiency, and scalability of cloud services + Consistently raise the bar for quality, performance and customer satisfaction **Your Experience** + **Education:** Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field + **Experience:** + 15+ years of software development experience, with at least 7+ years in engineering management + Proven track record of building and scaling SaaS/cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) + Strong Knowledge in Kubernetes, containers, and cloud-native development + Strong background in distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, or security platforms + Previous experience in cybersecurity, observability, or large-scale multi-tenant platforms is a plus + **Leadership Skills:** + Ability to recruit, build, and retain top engineering talent + Lead by example with a can-do attitude + Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams + Results-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering impact + Ability to connect day-to-day engineering execution with long-term business goals, make tradeoffs, and prioritize what delivers the most impact + Skill in guiding teams through organizational, technical, or product shifts while keeping morale and focus high + Experience dealing with ambiguity, making timely escalations, and course-correcting when needed + High energy and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment **The Team** At Palo Alto Networks, you’ll work on industry-leading security platforms with a mission to make the world safer.
