Senior Manager, Software Development, EU INTech - Selection Excellence Technology (SET)
Amazon.com
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Software Development to lead the Selection Circularity engineering pillar within Selection Excellence Technology (SET), part of EU INTech. This role owns the technology strategy and delivery for Amazon's circular economy, sustainability, and repair initiatives across European stores.
You will lead a team of software development engineers and managers building the technology that helps customers make informed, sustainable purchasing decisions and enables sellers to participate in circular commerce at scale. Your work will directly impact how millions of EU customers discover product durability, environmental scores, repair options, and compliance with evolving EU sustainability regulations (ECGT, Digital Product Passport, Environmental Score).
This is a role where regulatory complexity meets customer experience innovation. The EU is the global leader in sustainability regulation, and Amazon needs technology leaders who can translate regulatory requirements into customer-facing features that drive both compliance and competitive advantage.
Key job responsibilities
→ Lead and grow a team of SDEs and SDMs delivering circularity and sustainability technology across EU stores
→ Own the technical strategy and roadmap for Selection Circularity, including Durability Index, Digital Product Passport (DPP), Environmental Score, warranty repair availability, and ECGT compliance
→ Partner with Product Management, Science, and Business teams to define and deliver features that increase sustainable selection visibility and customer trust
→ Drive engineering excellence: system design, operational health, code quality, and delivery velocity across the charter
→ Collaborate with WW teams (Retail, Compliance, Seller Experience) to build solutions that scale globally while meeting EU-specific regulatory requirements
→ Own the operational metrics for your charter, including repair availability targets (76%→90%), circular demand goals, and compliance deadlines
→ Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent in a competitive European market
→ Represent the team's technical work to senior leadership (VP, SVP) in business reviews, QBRs, and strategic planning
