OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
The Senior Manager of Sales Training supports the Sales Training Department in all training aspects with respect to the field sales team to include AVPs, Regional Sales Directors and Field Representatives. This includes assisting the Senior Director of Commercial Excellence and Sales Training with initial development training and ongoing training initiatives that will enhance both product knowledge and selling skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops, delivers, evaluates and updates training content based on effectiveness and evolving business needs in partnership with the Senior Director of Sales Training, AVPs/ RSDs, and Marketing to ensure it is relevant and up to date. Supports the team in applying new concepts through 1:1 coaching, virtual meetings and calls, field visits, and continued training. Contributes to long-range planning, product launches, National Sales Meeting content, and other cross-functional initiatives requiring training support. Co-facilitates onboarding of commercial teammates, ensuring pre-work, live training, and post-training content is current, collaborating cross-functionally on content updates, conduct roleplays, and supporting field integration. Oversees our Field Sales Trainer program and all Field Coaching Reports. Manage vendor projects and on-going vendor relationships. Models and reinforces effective sales practices in both classroom and field settings.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Strong understanding of the clinical challenges faced by physician customers, Biodesix products, and their applications. Deep knowledge of the sales process, including onboarding and account development. Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and empowering others. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to understand the competitive landscape and respond to customer needs with empathy and insight. Adaptable and resourceful in a fast-changing environment. Engaging presentation style with experience facilitating group learning at regional and national meetings. Strong organizational and prioritization abilities; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to travel (air and car) for internal and external business meetings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree A minimum of 2 years’ previous sales experience with strong performance in the pharmaceutical, biotech, oncology, or other related industry.
