As part of GORM, the Operational Risk Management and Control Programs (ORMCP) team designs, implements, trains, and builds awareness, and monitor risk management practices to ensure operational risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated effectively. As the Senior Risk Manager of the Risk Insights and Reporting team within ORMCP, you will play a key role in risk identification programs, supporting the process of assessing, understanding, and confirming risks on a business unit’s operations, transactions, and emerging risks to ensure operational risks are proactively identified and managed. The Senior Risk Manager will lead and manage the Risk Review Program, including efforts to continuously enhance the Program’s approach, tools, and methodologies. This Program is utilized in GORM to identify and measure risks, as well as assess the effectiveness of a business unit’s operational risk management strategies and activities on specific topics. In addition, the Senior Risk Manager will play a pivotal role in providing key support to the Scenario Analysis Program. Scenario Analysis is used to manage operational risk through robust knowledge obtained from expert opinion of business line management and subject matter experts to identify potential operational risk events and assess their outcome, and where appropriate, identify actions to mitigate the risk exposures. The Senior Risk Manager will execute the Program by performing end to end scenario analysis, which includes conducting research, interviews, and workshops, writing comprehensive reports, and presenting the outcomes/findings to management. The Senior Risk Manager will also provide key support in managing and executing the Operational Risk Incident Reporting Program. Incident Reporting allows businesses a structured approach to analyze material operational risk incidents, identify and assess the root causes of the operational breakdowns, evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls, and develop remediation actions. The incidents are reviewed at the Risk Assessment Review Committee (RARC) on a regular basis. _At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.
