Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting
Job Title: Sr Manager, Revenue Accounting Job Description The Sr Manager, Revenue Accounting will lead all aspects of revenue recognition for a multi-product, commercial-stage pharmaceutical company generating over $500M in annual revenue. The role encompasses responsibilities such as ASC 606 compliance, complex contract and pricing reviews, gross-to-net accounting, government pricing programs, state price transparency reporting, financial close activities, and revenue-related internal controls. The individual in this position will partner cross-functionally across Commercial, FP&A, Legal, Compliance, Supply Chain, and IT, serving as the company's subject matter expert in revenue accounting. Responsibilities + Oversee all aspects of revenue recognition under ASC 606, including product sales, rebates, chargebacks, returns, distribution agreements, and variable consideration. + Review and interpret complex commercial contracts, pricing structures, government program terms, and customer incentive arrangements. + Prepare, update, and maintain technical accounting memos and revenue documentation. + Lead the monthly gross-to-net process, ensuring accurate accruals for rebates, chargebacks, Medicaid/Medicare programs, product returns, and other reserves. + Analyze reserve methodologies, assumptions, and estimates for accuracy and compliance. + Support accurate forecasting, scenario analysis, and reporting in partnership with Commercial Operations and FP&A. + Support government pricing calculations such as Medicaid Best Price, AMP, FSS, and 340B program pricing. + Ensure accurate and timely submissions to CMS, VA, and other agencies. + Interpret new regulations, support audits, and respond to government inquiries in partnership with Compliance and Legal. + Lead all state drug price transparency reporting, including price-increase notifications, annual disclosures, and justification filings. + Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close cycles, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics. + Prepare and review revenue-related disclosures and support 10-Q/10-K external reporting requirements. + Facilitate internal and external audit requests related to revenue. + Drive enhancements to revenue accounting systems, reporting tools, and automation initiatives. + Ensure full compliance with SOX and internal control requirements related to revenue. + Lead process improvements to scale with the company’s continued commercial growth. + Partner with Legal, Commercial, Supply Chain, IT, and FP&A on pricing strategy, contract terms, new product launches, and operational readiness. + Serve as the company’s revenue accounting expert, educating partners on revenue implications. + Mentor and develop junior accounting staff. Essential Skills + Expertise in revenue accounting and GAAP. + Proficiency in Gross-to-Net Accounting, especially within the pharmaceutical industry. + In-depth knowledge of revenue recognition and analysis, technical accounting, and ASC 606. + Strong experience with regulatory compliance, especially in pharmaceutical-specific gross-to-net accounting. + CPA certification preferred. + Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences revenue models is strongly preferred. + Big 4 or public company experience is a strong plus. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. + Deep technical expertise in revenue recognition and GTN accounting. + Experience operating within complex pharmaceutical revenue models. + Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across departments. + A proactive mindset with the ability to lead process improvement and scale accounting operations. Work Environment The position offers the flexibility to work remotely while reporting into the Boca Raton, FL headquarters (EST hours). Occasional travel to Florida may be required. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $190000.00/yr.
