The Senior Manager lead and oversee success of Measurement & Oversight / Global HR in Canada ensuring team’s goals, plans, initiative are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Senior Manager, Governance & Insights provides project financial expertise and guidance to the HR community. The role drives project initiation, prioritization and business case approvals, produces global HR project portfolio reports, and ensures compliance to the Bank’s Enterprise Delivery Framework (EDF). The Senior Manager enables successful project funding and advocates for the Bank's enterprise delivery framework by acting as a central point of contact with the EPMO, ensuring GHR project portfolio remains compliant to the financial requirements under each project delivery gate, from project initiation to project close and post implementation review. The Sr. Manager is also accountable to day-to-day opex management within the HR Services organization. **Is this role right for you? In this role you will:** + Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. + Drive and sustain adoption of project initiation, project prioritization and business case approvals that enable successful delivery of the Global HR, Marketing, & Real Estate project portfolio. + Lead the HR Divisional PMO (Governance function) and maintains relationships with the Enterprise PMO (ePMO) that will strengthen HR compliance to enterprise project management requirements under these gates: Idea Prioritization, Business Case Approval and Post Implementation Review (PIR) including Lessons Learned, and Benefits Validation. + Lead monthly consolidated project financial reporting to the Strategic Initiatives Prioritization (SIP) committee and the Global HR SteerCo complete with key messages in a concise and impactful manner. + Support all SIP annual planning activities, including driving prioritization of initiatives with HR executive team + Provide project financials expertise to the project leads and managers through timely engagement and/or guidance on EDF requirements, project financials approaches, reporting requirements and tools (e.g. Idea creation, Business case process, SmartStream reports, Project Forecasting tool, CAPPM, NIRA). + Ensure continuous improvement of monitoring and measurement capability of the HR portfolio of projects using data from the Bank's financials systems to provide directional insights. + Maintain currency of knowledge in enhancements to the EDF, and CPMO processes and tools. + Work with HR leadership to manage OPEX, including FTE forecasting and other OPEX needs (e.g. training, travel, etc.) + Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. + Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. + Build a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team. **Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:** + Experience in financial analysis and reporting, CPA, CFA or similar certification, an asset + Knowledge of project management, PMP or similar certification an asset + Experience with financial reporting tools, MS Excel, Powerpoint, etc. **What's in it for you?** + Manage a team + Provide thought leadership in complex issues + High analytical skills to continuously improve effectiveness of processes + Strong collaboration across Bank, acting as key point of contact to CPMO, DPMO and EO Finance + This role impacts reporting at the Bank’s Divisional level, on behalf of the Global HR, Marketing and Real Estate project portfolio under the SIP committee + Project typically impact the enterprise + Financial dimensions include the annual divisional project budget (direct and capital expense) + Financial systems include: OBI, OPEX, SmartStream + Project management systems include: CAPPM, Project Forecasting tool Location(s): Canada : Ontario : Toronto Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
