In this highly strategic role, you will identify opportunities, create learning plans and lead the development and testing efforts for packaging innovation aimed at improving customer experiences and accelerating business growth. This role will be responsible or guiding initiatives that enhance food and beverage quality, on-the-go and in our coffeehouses, while also reducing operational complexity and caring for our planet. The position is highly collaborative and will help realize ambitious, scaled moves for Starbucks, and achieve success, by working directly with key leaders and partnering with a wide variety of teams spanning R&D, Operations, Sourcing, Finance, Product Experience and Sustainability.
This position will require a courageous and influential leader who can lead varied stakeholders, and build strong relationships, at all levels across the organization, ensuring alignment of packaging innovation initiatives within the broader Menu Experience strategy. This role also must influence high-performing, cross-functional, teams to deliver complex, multi-year, multifaceted strategies by providing clearly defined options, logic, tradeoffs and recommendations.

Define and prioritize opportunities: Collaborate with partners and team members to translate business questions into key problems to solve, set strategic priorities around desired outcomes, and develop hypotheses to guide research, development and testing Lead planning efforts: Guide teams in building clear, results-oriented pathways for learning, implementation and development of capabilities Identify solutions: Critically analyze learnings, and develop recommendations backed by data and insights, to meet business requirements Initiate action: Serve as a champion for our customers and partners through compelling storytelling to lead cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals, drive alignment with leaders and influence successful execution of key initiativesWe’d love to hear from people with:
Experience independently leading end-to-end product or innovation strategy, inclusive of planning, briefing, development, testing, reporting and commercialization Proven ability to build and nurture strong cross-functional relationships Persuasive communication and storytelling skills to drive organizational focus and influence action across a broad range of cross functional and leadership audiences Skill for seeing the big picture, utilizing strategic approaches to translate highly complex business priorities into clear and compelling plans Curiosity to understand linkages between data, insights and outcomes Passion for, and understanding of, Human Centered Design (HCD) principles Ability to live Starbucks mission and values by contributing to a welcoming team culture, acting as a positive role model for delivering meaningful results and acting with courage

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
